When I was a child, whenever it rained my mum would wake my brother, sister and me up (my dad worked night),turn off all the lights and turn the sofa to face the windows. We would all sit there with hot chocolate and listen to the storm while waiting to see the lightning, we lived on a hill and could see for miles. We all grew up to absolutely love thunderstorms and do similar things with our children. I found out recently that my mum hated them and was terrified but by waking us up and pretending she loved them she found she could cope.

@@ripegirll Maybe not for you, but a ton of people take a long time to fall asleep. Myself as one of those people. I’ll lay there for 1-2 hours until I fall asleep sometimes.

When I was a kid my dad would turn off the AC at night and open the windows upstairs in the summer. It was miserably hot until a storm came through. I loved the breeze and the sound of the thunder.

After a rainy night the air smells so clean. When I try sleeping I have to have something like this rain to sleep by. I also keep a fan running to listen too. My dad thinks I'm crazy bc of the fan.

I’m writing this at 12:21 AM, and I have school tomorrow. I’m in high school.
