Hope your guest (and yourself) is correct about "change coming". For 60 years, since I was a freshman at college and had the good fortune to become enlightened about Palestine by some of the middle eastern students there, both Arab and Persian, I have felt we're on a roller-coaster ride. It seemed as if we'd never see the attitude and ignorance in the US change. I grew up with the "Exodus" (book/movie) and the "greening of the desert" baloney, after all. When I heard about 10/7, I became so depressed, for I felt this was going to precipitate even more acrimony toward Palestine. I confess I never anticipated the massive reaction by students and non-students alike, that awareness had grown so incredibly during that time, after all! Just when I feel I'm too old to learn new things, I find that is not the case! Keep up the good fight! I hope I might live long enough to see Palestine restored but, if not, I know it will come!! Meanwhile, while they're making some of the obligatory politically correct noises that might indicate they're "coming to Jesus", I wouldn't trust Harris, Schumer or any of their cohorts as far as I could throw them!

This was a valuable content. Even just hearing about the Canadian revenue/ tax service calling off the charitable status for tax purposes of the Israeli National Fund - something that I hadn't heard about from news media here in Australia, was very interesting. Also, the journalistic commentary about looking at the machinery of occupation, in discussion of Israel and Palestine, she is spot on about the absolutism of denial. That's, sadly, the blanket that Australian communities have thrown over them, or pull up to cover themselves, becuz it's so warm and familiar in rejecting the brutal truth of the cost of colonising ( and it also pretends to be all victorious when clearly it isn't. ) These machinations of culture, historical and contextual narratives really make the difference between telling the news and just putting lipgloss on.a pig again and again.

@@ssimba2785 British Palestine Mandate rules from 1918-1967, before that it was part of the Ottoman Empire; Ottoman Syria to be exact 1516-1918, Mamluk Sultanate (Egypt) 923-1517 of course the Romans had a lot to do with this bunch.
