I really like to vibrancy and diversity of the Kensington Market and local vibes. 😃 9:33 The Garden Car is a unique art display and concept that also serves as a community garden. 😎 38:14 This is an interesting short alley that leads to more hidden colorful structures. It's really neat to see all the murals, street art, and Victorian homes. 😍 Thank you for this fun walk through Kensington Market, AK and Johnny! 🤗

Hi ActionKid, this was wonderful. I wish you were there when I was in September so I could have said hi. You know, I've walked all around Kensington Market but for some reason I've missed these two areas 38:37and 40:57. Does this ever happen to you? You are the best, glad you came, have a good day where ever you are and maybe you'll be back some day!👍👍🚶♂🚶♂🐼🐼🌈🌈

32:34 I made it into an Action Kid video (seated, in red t-shirt)! Would have said "hi" but it had been a while since I watched your channel so I was shocked to see you in Toronto and couldn't remember your name. The crowds and music that day were due to the Kensington Market jazz festival, which was that weekend. I hadn't been in the Market since before the pandemic, and gentrification has increased notably, and was already quite advanced in the ten or so years before. Kensington Market in 2010 looked quite different.

used to be called the Jewish market years ago as many lived in the area and shopped there. newer immigrants moved in and now has all kinds of people. great walk west and east of Spadina.

The reason I love Toronto cause there is the Same excitement as New York City. Bacl in 1976 it was very neq to me. As an Teenager . Tpronto is Heaven during tge Winter.The great amount of Culture and the Fairly new Subway system back then. Plus I was staying in an 4 bedroom house in North Toronto.

👍 Would be a neat idea to try: You, johnnystrides, and kencontinuum, for several hours walk together(the same route) and everyone operates their livestream camera simultaneously the whole time, and during a meal. Also, everyone have the others’ wireless mics so that each livestream would have all three voices.

With Toronto Bikeshare, the first 30 minutes after you undock the bike, is free. The next 30 minutes (if you do not re-dock) results in charge ($4?). But if you re-dock after 29 minutes, you do not get charged. So, you actually get 59 minutes, not 30 minutes. It took me over 4 years to realize this.

Hey AK being a native of New Yorker, you might find this interesting: On one of those streets in Kensington (I believe on one of the less crowded ones) there's a vintage musical store called "Paul's Boutique" that sells vintage musical instruments and equipment. Sort of a tribute for one of the best groups to every come out of NY, The Beastie Boys!!!

44:20-These homes being torn down to make way for condos is _not_ a great or amazing prospect, and it needs to be fought, or _if_ it happens, said new and (sadly) inevitable condos need to have units that are rent-stabilised (i.e. rent geared to income, such as the one I'm living in right now in the apartment at the corner of Jarvis & Esplanade near the St Lawrence Market.) Despite all of that, this was another great video by you and Johnny Strides, Action Kid, and I'm glad that you came to Toronto and visited Kensington Market.

Has those East Williamsburg/Bushwick vibes except I don't know if there's any Jazz venues in that general area. Kinda more a crossover of Bushwick(for the grittiness) and Greenwich Village(for the Jazz venues.)

Kensington market is not at all like Brooklyn. It’s What Canadians think Brooklyn might be… also the tour guide talks like he’s always asking a question while he’s narrating . Not the Asian guy the other one

Hi Georgie Jackpot, just so you know as a Canadian that have been in Brooklyn, NY a few times, I would not never compare those two places they are not at all alike! Brooklyn is an amazing city and Kensington Market is an area in Toronto.

@georgiejackpot95402 жыл бұрын
@@nickkkyss7634 the local tour guy assisting action kid mentioned some torontians think it’s liek brooklyn. I was just clarifying it’s absolutely nothing like Brooklyn. It’s more like a yuppyish attempt to try to be hip so they opened a soap and candle store here and there and some soft graffiti over dumpsters (clean ones)
