I don't know much about Canada's history but it's remarkable how your country manages diversity so well, specially in Toronto. 👍

Great video. Little Portugual was my favorite area of Toronto along with Kensington Market. What audio set up do you use when filming? Your mic picks up everything perfectly

Enjoyed this walk! Thanks for the restaurant and food suggestions like Sukothai and khau soy! Got to try it. Yes, Lakeview is famous for a number of movies being filmed there...the newest being "shape of water"! Also the food there is reasonably price and quite amazing!

🚴♂️As a cyclist on the street here in my 45k populated home town, despite the laws, I had to be hyper vigilant and I could not give motorists the benefit of the doubt. (That was forty years ago and no one wore helmets). Moving to Toronto was an entirely different experience and I seldom rode there. When my daughter rode her bike there a few years ago, she fell a couple of times and got some large and nasty-looking scrapes down the length of her leg. (She was probably going too fast). My concern for cyclists these days is that altercations with motorists will obviously cause a great deal of anguish and confrontations will distract a rider and that can increase the danger, so I hope everyone picks their battles carefully. (You are clearly even tempered when you ride, so I’m glad of that). Also, when you said “downtown”, near the end of the video, this little song popped into my head: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nafPhnuJpMZrfpY

Very well said Vera! And I had a feeling that would be the song but then you linked the Groundskeeper Willie version, amazing!!!

You're very welcome! I did have notes for the restaurants filmed at Lakeview Restaurant lol. It's too awkward to hold and read off something in one hand while holding the camera in the other so I just do my best to remember what I can :)

Very true (I don't know how I didn't mentioned this). I believe some have migrated from Bloor Street West around Landsdowne to the north when the rents jumped in that area.

You talk about the movies that were filmed at Lakeview Restaurant 24:47. In the late 1990s a movie was filmed in my parents home in Scarborough, I could not stay to watch as I had to go to work. I was never told what the movie was called.
