Tororo residents destroy Chinese property over land dispute

Close to 300 families in Tororo district descended on a piece of land that they leased out to a Chinese firm early this year and destroyed lots of property. The incident happened in the mineral rich Osukur Hills in Tororo district after the two parties failed to agree on the deal. The locals accuse the Chinese investors of extending the lease without notifying them and are now demanding their land back.
