Loved the TorpedoCon report you gave. Very interesting and super informative! If nothing else the comic community portion of the weekend seemed to be the real highlight.

I was there Sunday and I have to say, I really miss the old convention scene and this was awesome. And I will also say, those prices were insane!

Wow, Shatter! Never thought I would see that on a video. Bought that #1 off the shelf when it came out just for the novelty of it as I had one of those first Macs and used that software. Great hearing the history of it. That TorpedoCon floor looked like conventions of old (30-35 years ago). I thought you had early access and were walking around before the doors opened until you mentioned everyone was over at CGC.

Thanks for the honest feedback about Torpedo con! Other KZbinrs made it sound like deals of the decade were being offered! I missed it because of other committments but hopefully LA Comicon is a go in December! Love your guys' channel and content!!!

Richard, i was a huge fan of pretty much anything published by First Comics from about 83 to 86. Shatter is a nice pick.

I have literally been telling people about Comico Primer 2 for the past 10 years. It had a super low print run of less than 2,000. There are only 669 on the CGC census. Comico was formed in 1982 and struggled with poor sales and went under in the late 90’s. This book has a black cover and was very hard to keep in high grade. It’s only a matter of time before Grendel gets a movie or a tv show. This book is even rarer than TMNT 1.

Hopefully the interest in Grendel carries over to other keys. I recently picked up comico Grendel #1 :)

In an early issue of Spawn, colorist Steve Oliff took out a full page add saying "send me a letter and I'll send you something back". So I did and he sent me the original color art for Shatter #6. I was doing freelance coloring for a few indies at the time. And I felt very affirmed when I saw that I was using the same airbrush techniques he was to do the coloring. And I was very familiar with the Shatter series having found back issues years earlier at a used bookstore. Still have them.

It is nice seeing the comic con footage. What do those of us who have a large amount of books to sell but are unable to set up at A con supposed to do do To sell large volumes of books. If you sell online the shipping cost alone will kill all the profit

The best thing Peter David ever wrote was The Atlantis Chronicles, an Aquaman series without Aquaman.

Rant: All of the Supergirl confusion is an unnecessary result of Crisis, a series that was a bad idea to say the least. Things were clear and fine when we had Earth Prime, 1, 2, 3, X, etc. The annual JLA/JSA crossover was the highlight of every summer, shot to hell by Crisis. The ongoing results of Crisis are a farce -- such a big deal about Superman being the sole survivor of Krypton, yet hardly a year later we were seeing new, confusing versions of Supergirl. Good going DC.
