Good on ya mate , you’re one of the increasingly few honest mechanics out there doing a great job . You are also teaching the young mechanic working with you the right way , and to do the right thing in regards to repairing and fixing things that people spend their hard earned money on . It’s mechanics like you that earn a great reputation in your community for honesty and great work 👍. I should know , I’ve had to deal with some bloody dodgy mechanics in the past that make things worse than they were before they spun a spanner on my cars , what more the rat 🐀 bags charge you for it 🤔

Used this video for rebuilding the seals/switches on my 6l45 BMW, unfortunately it didn't work and I still have a bad 2-3 jolt/delay

Thank you for posting this video! I have a cycling torque converter and occasionally hard shifts under load. My biggest frustration has been an intermittently locking TC when it is extremely damp outside and the transmission is cold... it will stall at idle, which makes traffic lights interesting 🤔! The dealer wants to swap the entire transmission, but has no new stock. The TC factory can rebuild, but recommend driving it until it is completely unusable, as the rebuild will cost the same?!? I believe in understanding and fixing my equipment, and stumbling across your 6L50 content is giving me hope that there is reason to open mine up and try to service what might be the root problem! As soon as I post this comment, I will be subscibing.

Thanks mate. About to service my Colorado auto trans. Your video explains great detail and not full of basic rubbish that’s not needed. If you need to know how to remove bolts you may need to consider if your capable of doing the job. Under normal operating conditions what temperature range should the auto be operating at? Anyway thanks again for fantastic useful detail. Great Australian content.

I’m trying to find the sonnax pressure switch repair kit, the tool kit and the valve body to case seal kit. Is the seal kit also sonnax? I can’t seem to find it. I’m hoping you can provide me some more information. Great video!

I hate how transmissions are made to be non serviceable for the average joe now days. Because clearly these transmissions would benefit from regular oil changes. Even sealed transmissions where the oil is supposed to last the life of the transmission. Whats the life of a transmission then, I'd say probably around 200000 K's

hi, quiz your dealership...i have asked the designers/engineers at trans seminars and they say they are not sealed for life...they are suppose to say sealed for life of warranty...beats me why they keep saying lifetime oil or sealed for life ! service your transmission and change filter/clean pan and magnets ( add more magnets too ) cheers
