I am super glad you watched this version of Evil... its an experience - gives you goosebumps throughout. SHINee is very theatrical, they are very good story tellers (from Jonghyun's lyrics to their concepts). They did raise, nurtured, mentored baby cheese and they all agreed that Taemin has absorbed the best qualities from each members like a sponge that is never full. Taemin himself admitted that who he is now is heavily influenced by SHINee.

Taemin was basically raised by SHINee. He’s discovering his own color/style solo, but still have that SHINee influence. He said before SHINee, his hyungs are such big influences to him. All of the members’ solos actually differ from SHINee’s color and each other, but somehow still connect.

It's very true that SHINee hyungs influence on Taemin's artistry as well as his character. Him being humble ang emphathetic and being sweet is from his Onew Hyung, Him being the unafraid artist, always trying something new is from his angel hyung, Jonghyun, him having a very high spatial intelligence and great at concept making is from his Key hyung, and him being competitive, never settling for less is from his Minho hyung and of course Taemin being a living proof that "practice makes perfect" contributed on how they are all amazing, legend and iconic live performers. I appreciate so much learning about them all through you wonderful Shawols - I feel like they're becoming family. I once saw and interview with Kai where he said he and Taemin used to sleep in the dance studio so they could rehearse late, and if that's not freaking dedication I just don't know what is. Taemin was very young and shy when he first started.. he has admitted to how he was influenced by his members; they mentored him, encouraged him and never stop supporting him even when they were away in the military..and Taemin gives the same back to his members too.. their bond is real and strong ❤️

A SHINee Concert is like one big musical production. Their stages can have one literally like from a musical prod, there’s also tap dancing, Opera, Games (yes games literally), rock concert, fashion show etc. why it’s so worth it to go to one.

Most idols consider going to a live SHINee concert is where you see art. They have so many songs per concert plus games and special solos. Their most energy live stage is Stranger from Shinee world 4. They have white uniforms. One more is Jonghyun singing Crazy(guilty pleasure) live. Shinee live performances are always so grand and out of the box theatrical, even when we think that we saw or heard it all, Shinee comes and right in our face prove us wrong 😆 love each one of members, their artistry is so unique to each one of them, and when you combine all these giants, what you receive is perfection and genius child Taemin 💖

I think Taemin himself would say that he's influenced by SHINee throughout the years, not just through music and performance but in dance too, everything about his artistry is inseparable from the group, which also goes for each member with their own solos (they have their own colour like how their vocals are distinct from another, but when they come together, it's undeniably SHINee). and now you see why we wanted you to see this performance, haha! I get chills every time when they have the dancers holding onto them for that lead up to the final chorus with minho amplifying the intensity to the max!! ps: do you know about the announcement that SHINee has a comeback show where they'll be performing not just Good Evening but a new song?! it's happening on the 31st!!

I think all the members are so different and complimentary, their parts are selected like musical instruments in a composition. All of them have been fed so much variety in interms of song and dance. I think Taemin's solo career gave him a chance to take a greater risk. SM were obviously onto a good thing with Shinee and didn't want to rock the boat too much. Taemin said a few days ago about Don't Call Me that he wished it could be a bit more experimental or daring (something like that). Criminal and Idea are amazing tracks. He's the Korean MJ.. He's my favourite performer.. I love Onew too of course.

Taemin never fails to remind people that he's a Shinee member, even when he's doing solo work or promoting with SuperM. At his concerts, he has a special remix version of Danger, which incorporates their song Sherlock. So even when he's not physically with them, he's showing the world that the group as well as the members are still all with him.

I just started watching your SHINee videos a couple days ago. I love seeing your reactions. I went on this same binge Oct - Dec 2017. I have seen and listened to them for years. I started watching kpop back in 2010-2011 after watching Dream High. My recommendation for you is actually songs I know from Pandora, Ayo and Beautiful World/Life( Areumdawo).

I would say this is the first concert where is went like full out theatrical bc in my opinion swc 1&2 were kind of carbon copies of each other, but when SHINee came back in 2012 they completely upped their performances and concerts which is saying something considering their repertoire before this. All this rambling to basically say yea I think Taemins sense of theatrics stems from SHINee but I think he prob always had that within him

Yes, Taemin literally learned everything about being a singer and performer from the members of SHINee. They taught Taemin everything he knows, and he is the performer that he is today, because Jonghyun, in particular, loved him so much that he mentored him. Jonghyun taught Taemin to sing and he taught him how to be confident on stage. Jonghyun was Taemin's biggest supporter and champion. Jonghyun even wrote songs specifically for Taemin, such as "Pretty Boy" that addressed Taemin's biggest struggles and talked about how even though the world may see Taemin as a less masculine pretty boy, there are so many other sides to him that Jonghyun wished more people would get to know. The members of SHINee pretty much raised Taemin and they have always treated him like the precious baby of the group. They worry about him and scold him like they are his parents. The members even used to walk him to school and they attended special school events just like they were his parents, etc. The members of SHINee have known each other since Taemin was in first or second grade, so they have grown up with each other in every sense of the word. Taemin, is known for being sort of innocent and kind of naive and a little ditsy, as only the maknae of a group can get away with. He plays up being the baby when he is around the other members, and they pretty much will do anything he asks. He knows how to be cute when he wants something, but he hates it when someone asks him to be cute. LOL. As you may know, when Taemin first debuted people used to make fun of his singing and they would say that he was tone deaf and couldn't sing. However, it's sort of a misconception that Taemin "couldn't sing." it wasn't that he couldn't sing, it was just that he debuted when he was so young -- he was only 14 years old -- that his voice hadn't really developed yet and he didn't really have a good grasp of how to use his voice and produce the sounds he wanted with it. So, in the beginning, when he sang he was often flat or his voice cracked or he was off key or out of tune, etc. And because he was being compared to the other members of SHINee who were all 2 to 4 years older than him, and the other members had such phenomenal voices to start out with, it really made Taemin sound like he was lacking. That's why in SHINee's first few songs you will see that he only has a few lines, and most of the time he was just given big solo dance breaks to fill the stage at his parts in the song. However, if he was really tone deaf he never would have become an SM Idol trainee -- SM would have put him on the dance track and probably steered him toward becoming a backup dancer -- and he definitely would have never become the amazing singer that he is today. Someone who is truly tone deaf is physically unable to hear the difference in the notes and is unable to carry a tune. But Taemin really wanted to prove to everyone that he wasn't just a dancer, so he spent a lot of extra time concentrating on vocal lessons and the other SHINee members -- Onew and Jonghyun in particular -- spent some serious time coaching and mentoring him until he learned what it took to match their vocal range and to use his voice. You will notice that Taemin's style of singing, especially in SHINee songs, is a lot like Jonghyun.. And you will see that Taemin fills in for Jonghyun whenever Jonghyun was unable to participate in a performance. And even today, Taemin often takes over the high notes and the parts that I think would probably have been Jonghyun's parts in their new songs. Jonghyun was the one that really took Taemin under his wing and helped him to become the singer and performer that he is today. So, many think that Taemin's voice emulates Jonghyun because he is the one that taught Taemin to sing. Jonghyun has always been Taemin's biggest supporter and the one that rooted for him the hardest and loudest out of anyone. Even still today, even though Taemin is now 27 years old, you will see the SHINee members treating Taemin like he is their precious son. They are constantly doting on him, complimenting him and taking care of him like mother hens -- and Taemin loves it. There really is no group that has a more precious family dynamic then SHINee. They have been through so much and it has only made them stronger and closer. I truly believe that Taemin wouldn't have been nearly as accomplished as an artist if he hadn't been made a member of SHINee. SHINee is what pushed him and molded him and made him see his true potential, etc.

Taemin was definitely influenced by SHINee in many ways, just like he influenced every one of them - it’s just a natural process that when you work closely with a small group of very talented people you learn from them and they learn from you. BUT there’s only so much you can learn if you don’t have the actual talent and capabilities. In my opinion Taemin is incredibly talented in so many ways and very intelligent (also musically intelligent), he has amazing intuition and understanding of the stage and what real performance is. That’s why and because of his unbelievably hard work he was able to learn and evolve into the breathtaking, visionary artist he is today.
