Tortoise Enrichment Ideas!

Enrichment is incredibly important for reptiles. The minds of reptiles need to be stimulate in order to remain sharp and healthy. In this video, we try out some tortoise enrichment ideas. While I try these enrichment ideas with my Russian Tortoise, the enrichment toys can be adapted to other species of tortoise.

★About Professor Herp★
I started getting into the reptile hobby in February of 2018. My first reptile was my Bearded Dragon - Maxine Pegasus (creator of duel monsters btw). Since then, I have added five Yellow Ackie Monitors (Asus, Dell, LG, and two unnamed babies), a Chacoan Black and White Tegu (Frappuccino), a Crested Gecko (Destin), and a Russian Tortoise (Tortellini). I also have a dog named Thrall (yes, from World of Warcraft) who is a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix - aka a Chiweenie.
My goal with this channel is to share my knowledge, experience and journey with other reptile/animal enthusiasts and become a better caretaker because of it. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the community through these videos.

Great video! I've tried the ball one but my tort loves to try to eat anything colorful, so I got some rabbit toys instead. They are two wooden disks connected with some sticks, and it's made of untreated wood. He loves it!

Have you tried stuffing treats or mazuri in those toys that drop treats the more they roll around? I have a juvenile sulcata so I am looking for something he cant break yet can try and get treats out of. Just curious on your thoughts

@@ProfessorHerp yes! I let the dogs out and saw a big turtle in my drive. I thought it was a snapping turtle at first so I ran out there to make sure the dogs didn't get bitten and found a sulcata tortoise! My neighbor runs a rescue ranch and has two so I drove him over there to find they had both of theirs! So they asked if I wanted him! We assume someone thought I was the rescue ranch and left him in my driveway. He was all curled up smack in the middle facing the house.

I have a question for you. Mortis doesn't like his hide, in fact he worked very hard to push it out of the corner so he could burrow in the corner, should I take it out?
