Truly enjoyed the review of the Tortuga Inn. Sorry to hear about hurricane Helene hitting that area and then hit again by another hurricane. The room looked beautiful , hope you enjoyed your visit in Florida for Christmas😊

Wow, very nice room. We wouldn’t need a big kitchen either. So that would be ok. 😊 I love seeing the Gulf. My dadd used to live south of Tampa, in Sun City Center. He lived in FL for 38 years. Florida is so pretty. We even stayed a couple nights on Anna Maria Island. Nice place to stay. God bless. Be safe. Happy 2025. 🎉

Yes, I've heard that the week after Christmas, is very crowded there. We've always been right before Christmas, and it's not been too bad. But it's certainly much more well-known than it used to be.

We have a place on LBK. It has been destroyed but hopefully it is repaired/rebuilt; the property management company is currently in negotiations with local governments and insurance companies for claims and rebuilding processes. It's a mess. We love this area, are frequent visitors to AMI/Cortez/etc. It has been heartbreaking to see the destruction on AMI, LBK, Siesta Key, etc. and further south the previous years.

Yes, it is heartbreaking to see the devastation that the storms caused. I can only imagine what it looked like right afterwards. I'm sorry to hear about your place on Longboat.
