Would still love to see one about the Ozarks. Native Americans, outlaws, french, spanish, everyone came here. They even say our boars came from the spanish's pigs that got loose and became undomesticated. Outlaws came here to escape the law and settle down, every family I know says they were related to some big outlaw or another. My great grandpa said we were related to Billy the kid, and there's also tons of folklore and old native american stories. Just gotta do some digging through all the tall tales.

The Spanish purposefully let pigs, goats, and other livestock go when they made landfall in a potential new territory. It was a source of food for later visits. Alexander Selkirk, the real-life inspiration for 'Robinson Crusoe', survived for years on his Pacific island because the Spanish had already left goats (cats and rats too) on the island. The pigs in the Americas are most certainly from the Spanish, as were the mustang horses so famous for roaming the western U.S. The horse culture of the plains tribes was only a few hundred years old when the settlers got there, there being no horses in the New World until the first Spanish explorers arrived.

Hey ...Lord Pharez...yes Tortuga whas there island....but they were may others places in the Caribbean....One of them is the Island of Mona " Amona Taino name " ( a real Pirate hideout whit many Caverns to hide from 1534 when pirates take it to there hands from Spain and for almost 3 century's whas ldeal for repairing, supplying and watering there ships ) in 1593 Sr Francis Drake and John Hawkins encounter bad weather in the Mona canal ( between Puerto Rico and the Hispaniola ) and had to go to Mona for repairing there ships, many stories had that Mona has pirates good in some Caverns and in the Nearby shore Waters , one interesting note is that a native Puertorican Pirate name Roberto Cofresi use the island of Mona to atack the Spanish ship's that came from Panama whit some Inca gold in there way to Spain ( We all love a Pina Colada it is said that Roberto Cofresi made a drink whit run, coconut and pineapple for his man this are the ingredients for the Pina Colada. Officially the Pina Colada whas made in a bar some in the 50's or 60's adibate is still on where the Pina Colada was made and wen a hotel in San Juan also clame they were the ones )....a little history abaut the pirates of Mona island since 1919 is a wildlife and research island " some cientis call it the Galapagos of the Caribbean "
