I can remember my grandma used to have a washer just like this one, maybe it was the same, I’m not sure, but it was just like this one. I can remember staying at their house years ago in the school holidays and waking up in the morning to the sound of the washing machine. I’d love helping her do the laundry and then putting the clothes in the spinner and turning the knob. I love the sound the machine and the pump makes when it’s working, it brings back memories. Good times.

back at the time Toshiba really made some great machine like this, truely Japanese style and quality... now Toshiba appliances has been owned by Midea since 2017, many front load washers has been made by Midea since 2018 and top load washers since 2020, outside Japan only that did not happen. so sad that inflation also affects the quality of making the machines

I recall in the 70s and 80s 4kg 4,5kg was considered "small" and 5kg "large" family capacity. Today we have up to 20kg twin tubs. Have you ever washed king size doonas (duvets) or blankets in a twin tub?

Not much different to my large costway twin tubs. I note that there is no hot water heater on the Toshiba either. Far more people have twin tubs in Asia than automatics, and they wash far better. When hot, the main wash is used for bedding and towels. As it is cooled down, it is then used for whites and then coloureds. It is a far more efficient way to do the wash and it uses hot water from the hot water tank (and doesn't take in cold water to heat); and the wash water can be reused (automatics always pump that away each cycle); which is far more environmentally friendly. They can run through an entire wash in the same time it takes to run a half hour load in an automatic machine. My step mom used hers for 30 years and never gave her twin tub up (it was an old hotpoint).

I wish they still made the premium twin tubs, I would love one with this quality. Now all we can get new is HE, Bs, with cheap computer control which is only a failure point, they don't wash as well, no way they can run a 15 min wash and be done. The twin tubs a label now are small and cheap for the most part, and seem to be made off the same design no matter what Chinese company they claim to be product of.

My toshiba can spinrinse and it made loud noises was the best washer that i knew the washer was 10 years old or more but. This happened. The belt and the motor suddenly SNAPPED and couldn't pulsate and couldn't spin so we buyed a direct drive or smart inverter washer its the same and this is the best washer but it makes loud noises and its the same as my old toshiba and and it can spinrinse
