jing has a big problem basically his damage cant be sped up at all as his lightning lord speed is always tied up and un speedable. he would benefit from 2.x kits that tend to overcap talents stacks, or something to fasten his lightning lord

I think his core problem is still Lightning Lord, follow up attack characters are all based on how frequent their attacks are, JY being the only exception really stands out in a bad way despite having the strongest follow up attack in the game, LL at best only gets an attack in once per cycle and very, very rarely (like winning the lottery has higher odds) do you get scenarios where you manage to sneak in two LL per cycle. Simply put any future unit that speeds up summons or better yet advance them will make JY shoot up in performance as it might allow two LL per cycle. So as someone who’s owned him since day 1 of his banner, he can get you by, but LL’s core problem is what holds him back

he's basically a hunt character in disguise. you don't want to waste the 10 stack lightning lord on weak mobs as you want to save it for the bosses or elite mobs

The core problem for JY is that he's a 1.0 character. 1. No over cap mechanic for LL, so if you already have 10/10 stack it's useless to have more turn for JY. 2. LL having a cap spd (no action advance or speed manipulation outside of increasing their spd upto 130) means that JY dmg has a cap. Not a problen in the past but as hoyo keeps increasing enemies HP pool, JY needs much more investment compared to before. Keep in mind that JY is already a high investment character to perform well (LL needing only 1 action to clear a floor) 3. Low amount of self buff, low multipliers, and not great eidolons. 4. Male unit. Watch hoyo have a summon FUA female dps that doesn't have this weakness in their kit (topaz and jade doesn't count as they're sub dps not a hypercarry like JY) /s Honestly if hoyo just give LL a 100% action adv by reaching 10 stack, JY would be a great unit. It won't be OP but its hoyo so lmao. Fsn collab will bring buffs to old unit trust (strengthening quest) :cope:

His multipliers aren't that low IMO. He specializes in AoE waves, but when his FuA attacks just one enemy it's a 660% multiplier, which is quite high, but as you said his self-buffing is very poor. He has 45 cv on his entire kit, and that's it. It does mean that any buffs on him are less diluted, so any newer supports that somehow have even stronger multipliers than the current harmony trio of Sparkle, Ruan Mei, and Robin will further enhance his kit. I highly doubt that the LL spd cap will be for long, as in the Galactic Baseballer event we saw summons getting fixed spd bonuses, indicating when more summon units are released that there is a possibility of a summon buffing unit.

If Jing Yuan had 100% action advance on his LL it would actually fix so many problems. He would be a really good character then. Now days it is not unusual to kill off most of the enemy waves before LL ever gets to move so you overstack his LL by 20 or something. LL being so slow hurts him a lot on the super fast damage meta. He still does well in PF against lightning weak enemies because LL is much less important there and is a smaller fraction of his total damage output. What is even more sad is that when that fully buffed LL finally falls it does about as much damage or less than my Firefly just doing her skill attacks. Him being a 1.0 character means he has built in disadvantages to 'balance' him but modern characters threw balance out the window and they just have power with no downsides.

@@melinxe3428 There's just too much crit damage lol. Im always sitting at 92/410 cr cd in every battle in the overworld (Moc, AS, PF). It's just absurd. Looking forward to getting his E1 and Sparkle's E2. I've got a friend with an E2 Sparkle and my damage skyrocketed to 800-900k.

Have him E0S0.75cr/175cd S5 Peaceful day. Team are E0S0 sparkle acenturine and E6 Tingyun. Carried me throughout the game. Never regretted one bit for pulling this mf. He’s a jack of all trades. Used him in PF, MOC, SU, AS, and farming calx. The only reason I’m able to clear PF to free up the other half for herta himeko. He benefits from all blessings and MOC/PF buffs unless it’s dot. Used him this MOC first half and he took 5 cycles. Used Archeron E0S1 on second half and took 4 cycles. Pretty good by my standards since my Jing is pretty average.

I have a love-hate relationship with this guy. I love him because he looks amazing but hate him because of his kit and overall damage. Heck, i pulled his light cone. Got Sparkle. Build Tingyun with Planetary rendezvous. Farmed the hell out of ashbalazing to give him 70 crit and 170 crit damage. Which of course will still be buffed by Sparkle. Pulled Fu Xuan. Yet, after doing all that. I still can't use him to clear MOC. Good thing i have acheron and premium FU team. But still love you General.

I am in the same boat. I want him to be good so bad,but he can barely finish MOC and AS and often ,while my E0S1 Acheron is a safe choice for MOC and AS. I also dont know if any support can buff him ,only if the support advances Follow Up attacks ,that would be huge for him.

Jingyuan is not even that bad in both PF and MOC, But in this PF cycle he is one of my best unit. I used him PF Stage 4 First half with Herta and got 34k points. Im a complete F2P with E0S0 Jing, E6S0 Herta and E0S0 Robin

I saved from day 1 to get him, my first limited character. I really like his character and want to keep using him. I’ve been getting the external buffs. Built Tingyun, Pulled HuoHuo, then Ruan Mei, Sparkle and Jin Yuan LC (lost the 75/25 on his first banner). Had to skip Robin. Farmed multiple sets when a new better one was released. Didn’t pull Acheron since I might have been too lazy to go for Jin 😅 He’s not perfect but completely viable. I hope you could stack more than 10 levels on Lightning Lord.

I kinda shoot myself in the foot when starting this game because JY was rerunning and Acheron was coming up. By that point I reached the Xianzhou arc, I met him and saw the dude was a badass chill general with a stand so of course I pulled for him. Needless to say it wasn't the most optimal idea since I benched him when reaching the endgame due the lack of good supports and relics. I still love using him though, I think If you don't pull for character you like might as well uninstall the game. Hopefully Hoyo does something about LL because he'll always have a place in my heart (and teams).

btw there are 1 forgotten planar set for PF that everybody has forgotten and in my opinion this set is best for jade herta and other erudition chars for pf, Sigonia. This set is very good bc it gives 40 crit damage for just killing 10 enemies. In pure fiction 10 enemies is nothing so it will be just 40 crit damage from nothing

Topaz isn't even that great for him until around E1S1 and Jade is exclusively for Pure Fiction. His best teams still use Tingyun plus one out of Robin/Sparkle/Ruan Mei.

Ok a person’s comment on “summon’s speed” kinda gave me an idea. Remember that event where you get shit tons of summons and buffs to make them work? That’s like a secret test to make them potential future characters’ kit! (Like for example very soon we’ll get Lingsha with a summon in her kit) Now imagine a character who can buff the speed of summons, or like advance the whole team’s summons (like Robin but it’s Numby) That’ll be so busted and like Summon meta, and it’ll overlap with Jingyuan and follow-up unit cause the Lord is both counted as a separate summon but also follow up attack Same case with Kafka where her niche is DoT; but on this update, i can actually pair her very well with Himeko Robin Aven in a follow up team to clear the 3 Puppets thingy like Kafka has a follow up attack that refreshes every turn; himeko have that small Dot in her kit; and Robin buffing attack will increase the DoT too. Like i can kind of see these underlying secret synergy Hoyo has in mind for future characters where they have more than one niche built into their kit. Also, did you know that Kafka’s skill gives Jade 4 stacks instead of the normal 3? Like idk if my game glitched or anything but even if not, Kafka’s synergy with Jade is also really good on stages that i pair them up. Frequent attack and great AoE and all. Like this is a Kafka’s supremacy yapping comment at this point but. We’ll see if my comment age well. I’m so excited for interesting and unique characters in the future.

Garbage 5 star character. Im doing my best to make him work but he's dead weight in most every cycle scenario. FUA: LL is trash. And since most FuA blessings rely on frequent FuA instead of just one big number he ends up being shit. Ult blessings: His ult has shit damage. DoT: he's just not DoT. Slow. Low scalings. Dumbest mechanic in the game ever. As a version 1.0 character Seele is still miles ahead of him even tho she's getting pretty underestimated herself. JY is bad at PF. Bad at MoC. Bad at AS.

Not that great tbh, LL sometimes atk after the enemies shields getting back up. His Ult and E Break Gen also not the best. Also from my experience playing break team with not break characters (Topaz,Ratiom,HImeko,Herta) is just to build crit and speed just like normal. HMC and RM already gives so much BE and changing the unit to fully BE sometimes resulting to the same dmg or in so many cases even lower.

Oh yeah 10 stacks LL does a good chunk of toughness damage. 10 stacks should do a total of 450 toughness if there are at least 3 enemies. That's about 4 Xueyi ults, or 15 basic attacks.

My General is legit. He's built pretty well and I have his Sig cone. He's 3480 atk, 78 crit rate 189 crit dmg 108 speed. I'd say above average build and he still can complete most things. He's a char to have fun in sim universe is how I see it now. Always have a place in my heart being my 1st limited.

Jing yuan main problem isn't his lack of dmg, it's the fact that his dmg is fully back loaded without any way to make it faster, since lightning lord isn't affected by speed buffs and has a set speed. That is what hold him back the most. No matter how great his support may be in the future, that won't be able to fix this issue, which is why I said he sucks. I know that "suck" may be excessive, but hsr is about doing dmg fast and he can't do that. UPDATE : Sunday looks like pretty massive buff to Jing Yuan considering he can advance LL, Hoping that Jing Yuan will be viable with him !
