They dont reduce ress, which enemies have, so implant only allows them to break, they will do reduced damage (usually 20% less, can go way higher)

The floor for Silver Wolf and debuffers in general is so low compared to harmonies that they had nerf Jiaoqiu six feet under so he doesnt invalidate the rest of the class.

@@chronicallygaga great! but really, that's too obvious. SW has tons of debuff in her kit, that's why Ratio who scales off the # of debuff on the enemy benefits a lot from her. outside of Ratio's team, Pela is a very strong (and often better) competition against SW mainly because of her AoE nature.

She's awful for Hunt since the goal of Hunt is to one shot - meaning that you'll have very low uptime on SW's ult. SW is much better for AoE units like Acheron than Seele or Boothill. Honestly she's the worst limited support in the game for Hunt.

@@apexprodater2482 Boothill can literally one shot, but any Hunt defeats elites FAR faster than SW can keep up with. SW isn't much better against bosses than Pela is either, and has much lower uptime. SW is good if you're struggling to clear but if not, she's terrible for Hunt units in particular.

SW was my very first limited 5* pull way back and she carried my account. She's still relevant and since I main both Ratio and Acheron, she's not going anywhere.

What a lot of people seem to misunderstand is: implanting a weakness on an enemy DOES NOT reduce it's RES to that element by default. Only BASE weakness comes with the elemental RES debuff based on the respective types. So, while Boothill and Firefly can implant their respective type weakness to allow them to reduce toughness and eventually break, they don't actually reduce the enemy's res. Silver Wolf is the only character whose weakness implant also reduce 20% RES of the implanted type. Make no mistake, she's still OP.

She's not that OP in either teams. She's alright, but not broken. Both teams want Ruan Mei, which already gives RES PEN. Their other supports fit their niche better, Bronya for extra turns, HMC for Super Break, for Boothill and Firefly respectively. They also have some way to deal with Def%. She's just a fill-in slot if for whatever reason you're missing Ruan Mei or Bronya. Firefly herself can ignore defense via relic set and Boothill can also use it, albeit at a weaker level since he doesn't use Super Break for his best team. Tldr; you aren't realistically using SW over their other options in most cases. SW is good, but she isn't definitively "OP"

@@xenvj not my point at all. I was merely stating that being the only character that reduces type RES while implanting elemental weakness, makes her very valuable and this is something people often miss because they wrongfully associate weakness implant with type res reduction. Yes, my Boothill team actually consists in Boothill, Bronya, Ruan Mei and Gallagher. I find that having more turns and break efficiency is more valuable also.

@@moonjune29 The RES PEN on paper is valuable but you wouldn't run her over most characters' major supports. The only time she will be a BiS is in a heavy debuff-focused team like Acheron or Ratio. Although she can implant weakness and reduce the opponents' RES, it's not that great when you realize that it's an RNG implant, albeit less RNG if you pick your fights correctly. On paper, she is great. In practice, not as much. I've had her since release and I personally haven't found myself using her that much outside of Acheron teams, although that's partially because Mono-Quantum was something I've been avoiding because I couldn't get Fu Xuan (and even if Lynx is perfectly viable)

@@xenvj i'm one of the few remaining Seele players and also a huge The Hunt fan so all my limited 5* DPS are The Hunt characters. As you mentioned, she's also great with Ratio so my Silver Wolf is almost always deployed in battle. With that said, my account heavily benefits from SW so that's likely why i feel so strongly about her being very good.

@@moonjune29 Seele players definitely aren't few. Apparently the CN community still holds her in high regard and is still S tier for them. I've had experience with just about most of the major archetype there is. Standard Hyper(Jingliu/Seele albeit weaker because I only used her during release), Jingyuan (also a weaker form, post-buffs feel a bit iffy personally, technically Hypercarry), DoT, Firefly Break, and Acheron. I'm only missing FUA but that might change soon. I can say that SW is just "fine" she definitely was great back then, but I think that was mostly due to uncharted territories, i.e., Pela wasn't considered S-tier yet iirc, lack of options for generic stuff, and we were mostly relegated to stuff like using Asta, Bronya, and Tingyun for supports. Personally, as it stands, so long as Acheron, or a debuff count-reliant team exists, I think she has a spot. But on her own as a personal unit, she isn't exactly much to write home about especially with specialized supports just generally being much better than debuffs. Damage boosts are still damage boosts of course, but her case is a bit more difficult to defend due to her being ST when the game's content has traditionally favored Blast. tldr: Seele still strong, still a common sight for CN. I've had experience with most team archetypes and I can only really say SW is just.. fine. Only "better" because of circumstance. SW is great for debuff-reliant comps or archetypes but her being ST also hinders her. Specialized supports are just generally a better choice over a more "generic" support.

As someone who got E1 silverwolf on accident once u get it her energy issues become nonexistent like u ult and at most u get 60% of ur ult gauge back but at the least around 50% and u can put constant up time on her ultimate making getting stacks for acheron/dr ratio easier not only that u also just give the enemy a permanent def shred so imo even tho im talking ab E1 i still think silverwolf is better than pela mostly because pela requires pearls of sweat or silverwolfs f2p lightcone

She hard carried the entire first year of the game for me, fully cleared all of the MoC cycles with only two 5* dps characters because of her. Silverwolf brute forcing allowed me to focus on pulling all the op supports as a f2p.

I think most people opinion on SW currently is that she is a "whatever" character. Mostly the good thing about her is the high def shred on single enemy. Her implant weakness doesn't seem to be that good because of it's inconsistency on team with different element, and her other debuffs aren't as useful as her def shred. Her mostly usefulness are in Acheron and Mono-Quantum team, and even after that you can replace her in Acheron team with DoT. Not really a hardcore meta follower, but I think she should have a more consistent weakness implant. Might as well make her only able to weakness implant quantum for more consistency (I rarely see her random weakness implant useful). I mean, with break build and high toughness reduction on ultimate, it's going to be pretty good if she just implant quantum. To make it at least more "broken", might as well make her Res pen to be "All type res pen" even when she just implant quantum weakness, haha. Pela would still be the best aoe def shredder it seem. I mean, even if there's going to be another aoe def shredder (JQ should be the one based on early leaks, but we know what happened with him now), she still going to be broken. It's like Xingqiu, even when there's a limited Xingqiu (that is Yelan), he is still pretty much broken.

Silver Wolf is one of my longtime favorite characters and favorite Stelleron Hunter. Got me to get her when I first play the game on her 1st rerun. She got me through thick and thin in alot of modes. 😌

Even with FF and Bootlicker’s weakness applications, I still prefer SW as a flex/universal debuffer because her kit remains awesome-even if single-target. I’d still love to get her at least to E2

Silver Wolf was my 2nd Limited character I got. I will always stand by mono-q as it just feels amazing when in the right content (i.e. MoC, PF, AS) I left after Fu Xuan and came back on Sparkle and my Mono-Q team is so solid rn. Love SW and plan on E2'ing her when she reruns again.

I hope they will not make more characers that are as easy to get weakness as Firefly or Boothil. Before them, you wouldn't be good with just 2 dps. You would need to decide based on what dmg weaknesses your roster can cover, and that felt like a better reason to pull for characters than "this new unit is the same but higher numbers". And Silverwolf was broken for the fact that she can make any dps work in any scenario, but only if you play around what weaknesses has the enemy, and match the support and sustain to get the most value. And, even after Xueyi and Acheron were released, Wolf hasn't became obsolete with them, since Xueyi gets a good boost from having more quantum weak enemies to deal little toughness dmg for more follow-ups, and Acheron not only can ignore weaknesses with only her ult, but also would appreciate getting lightning weakness for more breaks, thus more debuffs, thus more ults. And plus, Wolf is one of the best characters to pair with her, especially against bosses. But, like I said, Boothil and Firefly are too much. Now they can work against any enemy with any characters that you have, and the only limitation is that they are a break dps, so if in the future we will get bosses that are immune against weakness break, they won't work at all. But against any other moc cycle? They are just op. And they break the main team building element in this game. It makes team building brainless, cuz they basically reduce the ammount of effort for characters in moc, pure fiction and apoc shadow in half. This reduces variety in strategies, which is sad. I hope they will not make more options that nulify the entire game, cuz let's be honest, the only reason why Boothil and Fly can't clear any moc is cuz there is only 1 Ruan Mei and cuz not a lot of people use Asta. But, if we get another pure break support, then it would be sad. Silverwolf required you to build around her debuff, which made you consider not picking the best option for, like, sustain or buff for that character in order to maximize chance for the correct weakness. This was good, cuz it encouraged more usage to someone like Bailu, since she is the same dmg type as Tingyun, so, if enemy doesn't give too much debuffs, you can use her instead of Huo or Luocha for, like, Jingyuan or Seele with Wolf. I hope they will make more similar units that will make you consider being mindful of what enemy is weak to, what you can change in your team to get higher results and just think for once in this game. And, I think that the new Hunt 7th is actually following that philosophy of Silverwolf, she can also break non-imaginary weak enemies, but only if shifu is that dmg type, which makes you think. But anyways, I love my Silverwolf, and I will most likely get her to e2s1, and one day to e6. I primarily use her in my IPC comp instead of Robin who I didn't pulled.

Silver wolf still has a niche and can be useful either when it comes to needing to Break Quantum Dino and enemies from AS that has the same Toughness Gauge. The problem is she's redundant in most other cases, ofc she is a better debuffer then Pela, but Pela is a far more Efficient debuffer. I don't regret pulling for SW Initially (Despite using 156 pulls) With the only regret being not getting Loucha at the time) and I don't regret pulling on her Initial banner as I did use her a lot from after I started HSR to around 2.0, I did regret wasting 80 pulls on her rerun to try and get her E1 just to get my first Bailu (But I didn't get her E1 as I used the Guarantee on Ruan Mei). Though I don't regret pulling her Signature Lightcone (Despite not being good on her) I find it better then Pearls of Sweat on pela when it comes to Acheron teams. I don't really find a use for SW though nowadays. Considering that I have Pela/Tingyun/Bronya and all of the Harmony Powerpuff girls (Robin/RM/Sparkle). Meaning I basically rarely have a use or her anymore.

everyone ignoring that with or without a implant AS forces you to play by the weakness with 40-60% elemental Res, SW is the only Character able to remove 33% Elemental Res and implant weakness. AS literally revived SW, but people are too braindead to know how elemental advantage works and thinks Boothill and Firefly have a good trait when infact that is the bare minimum for a break character. SW still is a Pela downgrade for MoC if you can't ult at the speed of light.

Ngl she's still useful. If you have a Quantum team minus the dps you can 1. Run any dps in a quantum weak fight 2. Run a quantum team in any fight with a dps who's on element So yeah, she's still great at what she does and still as flexible

I relate to this a lot because I've been playing HSR since launch, and finally pulled SW on her second banner. Making a 3 Stat focused (Crit 45/90, Break effect 150, and Eff.Hit 90 with signature LC) because I got lucky with rolls. My SW is really feeble at the time (figures) but I really wanted to play her

i got silverwolf and her lightcone in 1.1, and i don't regret it at all. im a casual player, sure, who has acheron, robin, ruan mei, ect from their original banners, but silver wolf will always remain my favorite

My only true gripe is the hyper focus on some units not needing the implant when in reality this helps here more by helping break enemies faster regardless of their element. Especially considering the 2 examples you have are break units who reallllly want some form of def down on their team to really thrive, one being exclusively single target. The mention of crit sw is nice in concept if youre a whale but in truth her best build has always been 4p eagal set and really high speeds and vonqacc as the planar to overcome her weakness of not ulting fast enough for players. As someone who does alot of 0 cycles her skills debuffs alone are what make her extremely valuable in MoC since its most of the time one enemy to worry about. overall a good video

I thought Silver Wolf was so cool in the tutorial and I was so excited when her banner came around. She was the first limited character I pulled and I used her for everything. I don't care about meta at all, Silver Wolf is still one of my favorite characters to use.

I am for sure that IF!!!! ok If they release a broken quantum crit dps char that can ignoring enemy def and res , not debuffing but straight up ignoring and also is made for moc and as content. If that actually happen imagine mono quantum meta that can brute force lot of content. If that happen silver wolf will be back for meta. Damn copium for mono is high for this one.

Does anyone know that she still being played Like in Apocalyptic Shadow, and MoC, if you don't see a character it does not mean she not being played you still have mono Quantum, The thing I hate about people say Break Character got something that made SW is now bad 1 SW was never seeing play in break Team 2 Boot hill and Firefly The need to ignore the typing or the would not be Good. 3 MC needed to be Free cause after breaking the Character you would be doing 45K DPS only. 4 SW would still not see play in does team even if the did not implanted there own typing cause there would be 1/4 chance. the only nerf Firefly did to SW is 1 the may be one day every break character Will implant there own typing, 2 this still is a long way and it not a guaranty for all break Character Like firefly to put there typing, the can have ignore instead.

SW is the one character i never took out of my team since her release. Think she is one of the most reliable and useful characters in the game. DEF Shred will never not be useful and it pays off immediately.

Acheron still made SW useful in teams, Firefly however completely stole SW unique niche and made it dirt easy. Somewhat with Boothill as well, but he actually requires setup to force the weakness.

I regret because : > Didn't pull Fu Xuan or Sparkle . It is not because I lose 50/50 . My one is guaranteed Limited character but pull for Dan Heng & Blade anyway . Almost all my decision is wrong man 😭 > The only team she usable is my Ratio Hypercarry . Dont have Acheron either . Will get Sparkle on Rerun so I can finally play mono team

People dont think shes outright bad, its just that Pela is just a better version of her for the majority of dps. I love SW, i love all the bronyas as you can see from my icon, and i try to use her as much as i can shes just niche and only has a few places where she can actually do better than pela. And her weakness implant got worse for a lot of people because their accounts grew and theyre no longer locked to the limited dps they have as a beginner

He does have a point though, Jing Yuan's main gimmick is his FuA and that part of gameplay have seen many improvements by Hoyo giving them many buff related things such us relic sets, dedicated supports, game mode that is great for them. Unlike for SW that was just left in the corner, with no big changes regarding her uses. She still faces her old same problems, not to mention, the meta doesn't favor anything that is single target atm.

@@nagitosdeadbody6184 and RNG weakness implant . Need 3 same element teammates or boss that already have that weakness . Which will also lead skill point problem since she is ST . If you didn't have Sparkle or Fu Xuan she is useless in that department .

@@nagitosdeadbody6184she does has new role thanks for Apocalypse Shadow mode, she's one of nihility unit that DOESN'T need to change in my opinion, because what else she does besides applies varies debuff? She's not dmg dealer. Comparing to dps, it's very nice to keep them relevant to follow the meta rules y'know...like you said by buffing their dmg with new relic, dedicated support, dedicated...debuffer? and etc. But claiming a single target debuffer is fell off...kinda funny to think about it, now we retract back the main dps like Jing Yuan has many loophole that so broken (ironically) that need many fixes, that is the "crazy" part about him, i hope he does has dedicated support out there can boost spd summon all team. If it's does, imagine how broken for JY's summon, and double hype for Topaz main too.

They are break oriented dps characters. They need a weakness implant for their kits to function properly. Not giving them implant like designing a dps that literally can not attack unless you are fighting a specific enemy or have a very specific support unit.

@nathanmom1045 That's because silverwolf is designed for characters that don't rely on break damage for their main source of dps, think of acheron, seele, and blade. Silverwolf's weakness implant and resistance reduction is supposed to provide support to more traditional dps units. Break teams, however, are far from traditional. You can see the problems not having weakness implant causes in quite a few units. Sushang, Destruction TB, Luka, and Xueyi are all designed around capitalizing on weakness break. However the inability to generate value without the right weakness made their value highly inconsistent. Xueyi tried to fix this issue by ignoring weakness through her ultimate, but it wasn't enough to make her usable against non quantum weak enemies. The inability to weakness implant makes sense for 4 star break units, but 5 star characters cannot afford to be so restrictive, especially with how few flex slots are available in break teams. Instead of getting mad for no reason, think about why something is done a certain way.
