This album is the first instalment in the Bioçic Music Series, a series of six albums that Toshiya Sukegawa (助川敏弥) recorded, with the assistance of Makiko Hirohashi (広橋真紀子) and Mitsuhiro Nagano (永野光浩), at the Bioçic Institute Of Environmental Music across 1993 and '94. The third instalment in the Bioçic Music Series, Bioçic Music: Astrology, can be found on FOND/SOUND's channel, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6mtdYSoaa6tnqM FOND/SOUND also published a fantastic writeup of the album 'Bioçic Music: Astrology' that provides context for the Bioçic Music Series as a whole. Text on the cover: Still glides the stream, slow drops the boat, Under the rustling poplars' shade; Silent the swans beside us float None speaks, none heeds; Ah, turn thy head! Let those arch eyes now softly shine, That mocking mouth grow sweetly bland, Ah, let them rest, those eyes, on mine! On mine let rest thy lovely hand! From "Faded Leaves", a poem by Matthew Arnold.

Mesmerizing soundtrack. Perhaps most of people wouldn't decorate their Christmas trees while listening to this music, but it is just what I'm doing right now and it helps to create a soft atmosphere, specially because today it has snowed, and some of this album tracks lend the impression of drops of water or snowflakes falling down, falling and falling and falling...

I was just working to this and was like "ooh nice music :0 I likey-" but then river came on @16:05 and that beat drop literally made me stop in my tracks and drop what I was doing. I looked out the window of my room at the world outside. Suddenly, I was washed clean of all the things that didn't matter and basked in the grand scene of life outside of my bedroom. Overwhelmed by emotion, I stared at the swaying trees, the clouds rolling by, and the sunlight passing through the grass and felt the familiar way I used to view humans, nature, and the world creeping into my heart. The birds landed and took flight and I felt with so much determination that life is to be discovered and not something to get through as fast as possible: something to enjoy and to savour. I hadn't felt that way in a long time: like life is so big and possible. Anyways, it was a lit experience bro. 10/10...highly recommend.
