“He’s like” 😂 I really hope people realize the disjointed humor in that. Also, I tried to follow along with that explanation and I couldn’t follow it for the life of me. I’ve been playing guitar for 18 years. Abasi is god tier

Nuno also has a technique with muting that sounds like a delay but's just him muting the strings. He shows it on his interview with Rick Beato video

This is why I love electric guitar. It's such a relatively new instrument that people still find new ways to play, and Tosin is one of the best at breaking the boundaries of the instrument.

@@Nhask666 Yeah, I’m doing ok mate. The state of the world still has me on the edge of despair but I’m trying to stay positive. Whereabouts in the world are you, if you don’t mind me asking?
@Nhask666

@@Moakalatte Yes you are right. I am just doing fine so I could continue my normal life routine: wake up, work, sleep and playing guitar, of course. But this does not stop me from checking news about the current conflict / war (which I found it unnecessary: the suffering outweighs the benefit of one man) cause deep down I am like you, too: despair, angry, shock, and most of all I just do not know what to do. By trying to maintain a positive mindset and getting my objectives done, is what keeps me going right now. Oh yeah, I am truly sorry for not properly introduce myself to you. I am Noah from Brunei 🙂 So I am here sending to you my positive vibes ++++++ and hope it reaches UK by nightfall, haha.

@@Nhask666 I’m glad to hear that a routine (and playing guitar) is helping your mental health. Greetings from the UK! I’ve stopped over in Brunei on the way to Aus. It was SO warm! I travelled around on a boat trip with a lovely gentleman but my god I enjoyed the air con when I returned from the trip. Hope all is well over there 😃

I’m no guitarist but I’m fascinated by the way he plays. His fingers are so long it looks he’s playing multiple notes at once per finger!
@LONGname46
@LONGname46 2 жыл бұрын
He pretty much is! I'm a guitarist who's practiced selective picking and primarily with the fret hand, that's what you're setting up, with the picking hand letting you do those multiple notes 😁
@bdubs3819
@bdubs3819 11 ай бұрын
You're actually on the right track. While playing a note, he's probably letting the edges of his fingers rest on the neighboring strings in strategic places to keep them silent.

I feel like this is one of those things that a lot of us have stumbled across, and played around with, but never cashed in on it like he did. It’s like Edward Van Halen and tapping. People dabbled with it before him, but he turned it into a consistent and refined thing.

How is he doing that part at 1:00? 3 notes all being hit 3 times?
@bdubs3819
@bdubs3819 11 ай бұрын
The first 3 notes are the same note, the second three notes are the same note (an octave higher than the first 3) but the last notes are not the same, I think it's just a descending run of pulled off and hammered on notes
@bdubs3819
@bdubs3819 11 ай бұрын
Actually I slowed it down and the last 3 notes are a descending arpeggio which appears to be mostly hammered on

Ultra thick tones are a good indicator that someone is more of a bedroom hobbyist. Onstage in context with the rest of a band you don’t want the guitar to take up every frequency range.
