Such a good video Tosin. I find these so relatable. For the longest time, I preferred to have an "exclusive" group of friends but maturity and a lesson I learned in 2020 has thought me to be open to loving and serving people beyond my closest friends. I moved abroad 2 years ago and I have been so blessed with a wonderful community of new friends. A community where we serve each other selflessly. I have co-planned so many events, from house warmings to bridal showers, baby showers, hallelujah challenge watch parties etc. Sometimes, it takes sacrifice in terms of my time & resources but I don’t mind because it is a privilege to serve and be part of a loving, drama-free, mostly God fearing community. I don’t take it for granted at all. It also takes humility & self awareness to be part of a community. I had to learn that I'm not too big or too special to not be offended my people. Like Tosin said, I have made a conscious decision not to dwell on offense. There are some people I know will definitely offend me and I have forgiven them in advance 😀 What's most important to me is having genuine friendships and building a community. I still have boundaries and when people cross them I let them know asap but I don't let offense or gossip build up. I think of how most of us in my community are growing and our lives are evolving (marriage, jobs etc) and how by God's grace we will continue to be there for each other through the different phases of life. If you are relocating, or have just relocated, please don't isolate yourself. Lose your biases e.g "I don't want people in my business" (this is where healthy boundaries come in) or "I don't want to hang around this race or nationality" (huh?) Make friends, be open to loving people genuinely and best believe the love you put out will come back to you. A good place to start is finding a Church! People underrate this so much but that's a conversation for another day. Welldone Tosin👏🏾

Such a beautiful video Tosin . I moved to Canada three years ago and I am honestly still working on building good friendships, I had to let go of some friendships here because of values system and all, but watching this video now I will be more deliberate on building a rich life. Thank you Tosin

Thank you for your video. For living abroad for seven years now, it has been not easy for the cultural shock and and the few experiences. But I hear you right, and I will put again your advice in practice

ThIs is absolutely a rich video. We all need a community to serve and be served. Even if I'm in space, I'd always make valuable connections. I understand the importance and I'm intentional about it.

I have a Neigbour who also hasn’t responded to my hello for more than 10 years. After the pandemic I decided that life is too short to continue. God knows I tried.

Thank you this video.. I have the same perspective in life and being here for 18 months.. I have tried by God's grace to do all th things you have talked about because naturally am a person who is like that.. one time I got a cab. I was telling the taxi driver.. I think I smile too much and alot of people in Britain seem to be angry 😂😂 because the don't smile back... he told me just to continue to be me.... As long as the Lord keeps me here.. I will continue to have this rich way of thinking... Thanks ❤

you’re so sweet Tosin, after i greet you 3times and you give me ela, that’s the end o. when I moved to Canada, when I see Nigerians my head was always in a greeting position😂. Some people are pleasant they respond, others will just snub you. I still say hello to Nigerians when I run into them in the store or when I am taking a walk. If you like answer me, my money no go lost 😊

Be proactive, serve people, learn and unlearn, change your mindset, don’t take offence, open your heart, hope you people understand and practise this. meanwhile I just noticed that you don’t ask people to like or subscribe to your channel…
