For the Economy track, I just did it and to hit level 10 Research Speed I, you need to actually max out Food/Silver, which require maxed Warehouse, which requires maxed Iron/Stone/Wood. I haven't completed the second tier just yet, but assume the pattern will repeat. You can get to level 9 without spending the points, but at least through the second tier of research it's "cheap" enough in terms of valor points if you're hitting the epic monsters at G3+Mercs or above that it's worth maxing. The difference between level 9 and 10 is pretty significant for most research. Basically, I pushed hard for G4 to unlock artifacts and the next tier of power, but now finding a lot of value going back and playing catch up with lower level research in other areas (economy and logistics primarily) that will help make things more sustainable going forward. Also would have done it differently and gone into Economy first to unlock research speed to reduce the number of speed ups I needed all down the line.

Yes, research is so important for later on down the line. Getting to level 10 in any research field has a huge jump in the percentage bonus and might score. Thanks for sharing the wisdom Michael 🙏🏽💯

The next crucial point would be leveling up Helen. She will also help in food production. The key thing is to never be in the red with food. As you grow, your leadership will increase, and with that, the amount of troops you can take per attack will also increase. I'll show you a BR for arachne.

Thanks Adriana, yes Helen is epic, I had her on a previous account. Still gotta watch out for when you change captains though because the bonuses drop which affects the food consumption.

Also, apologies if I missed it in the video, but one lesson I learned the hard way is that if your troops exceed your food production, it increases the silver/food cost to train new troops by the same percentage. I assumed I could just run at a deficit and that was the only impact, but when stockpiling troops for the Rise of the Ancients clan summons so I could do multiple runs fast I ended up paying more than 2x (+117%) the cost for basic spearmen which blew through my savings very fast before I noticed.

Its 100% made my army huge, however the demand for silver now is priority, just saying, either be in a good clan that gives silver from chests or be prepared to mine a lot lol. 🙏🏽💯

If you can, get Helen and level her up as high as you can. she increases your food production and that will give you more space to make a bigger army. also, having more barracks gives you more troops when you make them. if you find that you have problem with silver, get a silver alt going. basically an alternative account with only mansions that produces silver. it can produce up to 25m silver/day. it does requires some spending though, or just alot of time invested.

I earn more than I spend. Resource management is key to surviving this game and enjoying it. You should be in a good clan that provide 100s of chest per day, complete your own missions, earn rewards, and of course 'EARN MORE THAN YOU SPEND' lol 🙏🏽💯

yes! the game constantly reminds you how your experience is better if you just pay a little bit, and once you do, the numbers will be inflated and you'd have to pay more. most "deals" in the game are limited to 24h deals for 5 bucks, after that the next deal is 10 bucks etc etc. its possible to play for free if you have the time. but if you're in a good clan the game is enjoyable to play, even if you play totally for free. and its both on mobile and PC. i would suggest you play it on mobile since you get a special event when you create a new account on mobile that grants you a hero (costs 1m gold ingame, thats like 50 bucks worth of gold)
