One of the areas I am struggling with in the game is research levels. There does not seem to be any documentation or anything that explains what each level pertains to in a particular research area, what they do (% increase or whatever) and how they are applied. I am guessing, under guardsman research, the levels relate to the appropriate guardsmen level in your barracks and under archeology it relates to the level of crypt, but others (e.g., caravan or economy) are less intuitive. So I am guessing many ignore the lower levels entirely and zoom ahead to the higher levels, maxing out what they can do before moving on to the next higher level (really expensive and time consuming research). Which also puts their research points into areas they stand to gain the most rather than "waste" them on lower levels they will rarely use. That makes some sense depending on your play style, when it comes to troops, but does that same strategy apply say to economy or caravan research? You do not train caravans and buildings and created resources have a lot more levels than 3 or 4.

Great video, I've been following for quite a while, especially as I am at the same stage in my journey, about to get G5 and my dragon is lvl 93 - 22k dragon orbs to evolve, damn I thought my 11k was good, so I need to work on that. Like michaelmartin9174 has said, I think the cost for the stacks is important here, but also the lifetime of the mercs. Sending them all, will use them up in a few days, the benefit of stacking is that they last the whole 7 days (for now) and I have a ton left at the end where I do throw them all in, so I use them before I lose them. I think what is needed is a calculation over the whole set of mercs, what is the cost in silver and VP gain with stacking and using up say 400 mercs, vs throwing them all in and then having no mercs over the remining same number of attacks. I think stacking would be the best outcome.

I'm following your advice to not spend gold on troops but to be able to get a decent army again you need tons of speedups. But just like gold, speedups are also limited and now I don't have enough speedups to rebuild an army fast enough. Tomorrow is the Raise of the Ancients and I don't have enough troops to stack. If ytou're not spending real money in this game, you will get stuck in everything.

When I stack, at the moment with G6/7 I use (With Aydae) G6 archers 11k, Melee 11K, mounted 5,5k. Griffins 550. G7 archers 5,5k. Melee 5,5k. Mounted 2,75k. Griffins 275. My advice would be only use 10% griffins of the amount of mounted you are using. I also stack M5/6 monsters. When it come to mercs I send everything I got, but sometimes they will get killed first without doing damage, that is the chance you have to take, or try lower the amount of mercs.

You only require to stack your two highest troop types! And since Guards hit harder, you send about 10% more specialist , At the same time, take the time to decrease the troops that were hit first, taking 100% leadership is not always the answer! You can get the same results by taking 80%. Just my 2 cents

I ran a similar experiment with Arachne comparing proper stacking that went from G6 to G3 (35 total stacks with monsters and mercs) against stacking higher numbers of G6/G5 and not worrying about my mercs hitting last. Limited tests, but what I looked at was cost per 1B VP to rebuild the army and revive mercs/monsters. Stacking: 9.1M silver per 1B valor + 14K gold (went first) - earned 4.2B with VP boost Smash: 5.6M silver per 1B valor + 31.9K gold (went second) - earned 8.8B with VP boost The gold cost in my test scaled pretty well with the valor gained, but the silver cost to rebuild actually dropped because the silver cost doesn't decrease massively with lower level troops. G3 compared to G6 is 17% of the Base Strength/Health, but 54% of the Base Silver Revival Cost, and you're building a lot more of them to create an equivalent stack. My conclusion was that Smash is generally better for my playstyle, and that is probably more true if you're not using or using minimal mercs/monsters which drive your gold costs up. If silver is not a consideration and you're trying to keep gold costs down, Stacking is probably the better value. The higher level players in my clan tend to run stacking, but they're running G8 down to G3 with specialists and monsters, etc.

You and I have the same might. Staking is good, but not used like that. If you want to save some time, just send everything. revive your Full attack will cost 3 times what you will spend to rebuild your staking army. Full army is more effective, staking give you more efficiency. Depend of what you are looking in your attacks.

Your "all-in" method results in higher recovery costs per Epic attack. And you only get 90% of your Mercs back when they are recovered. If the EMH get hit first as mentioned in the other comments, then you get ZERO kills from them and only get 90% of them back. I'd rather have a low cost, repeatable stack, of which I know the exact cost to train/recover. :) Just my 2 cents.

I’ve found that in most cases, putting all my mercs into the fight will almost guarantee that they will die first because the game doesn’t want you to gain too much valor points too quickly. I’ve tested this a few times in the ancients event and the odds of you landing the first strike is supposed to he 50/50, yet when I send all my mercs its more like a 90% fail rate
