Start with the task, and choose your captain(s). Your equipment (including artifacts) is chosen either to boost your captain's abilities, or to compensate for their weak areas. It depends on the troop types you send.

When you want to attack a monster, check the monster tab and click each monster squad uniquely to see against what troops they make the most damage. Then send all the others and hopefully that will reduce the losses.

Attack common monsters with 1 type of troops only. Check what troops the monster squads dont have bonuses against and choose that type of troops. For example, you should attack with only G7 Flyings or only G6 Mounted (depending on the level and type of monster). When you attack rare monsters on the map, divide the leadership in two and attack with two type of troops only. For example G7 Flyings + G7 Mounted or G6 Ranged + G6 Melee depending on monster and level. Reach out if you have questions about it and I'll explain why.

Basically only send the type of guards the monsters DON'T have bonuses against, none of the common monster squads have bonuses against all 4 types.

The best suggestion I can make is to read the descriptions of each Captain carefully. Not only will you learn what their best use case is, you will catch the nuances that really matter. For instance, Doria only earns VP bonuses on victories, so using her for epic squads is a waste because it doesn't use her strength since you won't win that battle. Same with Sophia versus epic squads... She gives a bonus to health, but health doesn't really matter because the epic squads kill all your troops in one go.

Doria is very nice against Epics - if you kill them. She has a limited window where she is useful for this. You need to be strong, and still need VP to finish your research.

Hello, as a starter I have these: Aydae - she was one of the 1st captains I got and she is great for guardsmen Doria - can gain more valor point Dustan - gains more conquest points and he is so handsome :)) Carter - crypts where he can get great things and he is also very handsome :)) Stror - mines - master in mining Tengel - march speed for caravans and mercenaries exchange I wish for Cleopatra, Ramses, Skadi for now and I will see later. Aydea is an all-rounder from day 1 novice to becoming an experienced Ruler of a kingdom. She offers guardsmen health and strength. Carter is for crypts, with the appropriate gear with the ensemblements. Stror is excellent for mining metals /collection of resources. Aurora is the perfect architecture and building project manager. Farhad is essential to reduce research times; technological research is essential to progress. Helen is best for troop care providing training and food. Dunstan is great for conquest points. Tengal helps with speed, almost as fast as Flash (DC Comics). As one progresses to monsters being part of your kingdom then Wu Zetien is great to get the best from the monster squad. This my initial experience of the captains; it is not inclusive as it is an ongoing adventure.

I wrote him off too…until I started getting larger and understood more about player v player actions; with specialists being stronger in PvP actions, Logos is essential for those hits on other players to increase specialists’ strength and health even more.

I read and reread the captains' descriptions, finding new uses for them each time. I am also learning the importance of armor paired with the correct captains. Let's not forget to change your designations when you have Premium. Also, using archaeologists for battles does not make much sense, as does using great marshals for crypts. Pay attention to what you are using and when!

Everybody need to have Helen, Carter, Fahrad, Aurora, Stror to grow and develop their city. These are essential captains but Aydae is the one to play this game. Yes there are other more powerfull captains like Hercules, Skadi, Beowulf, Ramses. when you evaluate in terms of cost-performance Aydae is clearly first one you need and can have.

Wow, all these very interesting Captains of TOTAL BATTLE. Thank You very much for these really helpful and useful informations and well made videos. My favorite captain is Captain Aydae. I like her green near elvish / ranger look with her Longbow and her hooded cape. Please, make a Video about the female Hero Julia (her Childhood and becoming a Heroine) please. Aydea garvel is also my favourite. The most difficult thing I struggle with is fighting monsters without losing unnessasery losses.
