This is not a Proper AC. It is a swamp cooler. Ok for arid climates. Would never work in humid areas, would actually make it feel hotter.

This is a gadget but not a air conditionning. It has been seeing on TV and it is expansive for this gadget who doesn't do anything at all.

These type of coolers have been around for years, they are not that good once the water heats up its useless it you want oils in the air get a battery oil burner or plug in

waste of money those swamp coolers. purchased artic air one from argos last year £39. only makes air more humid no good for a caravan, some models have ice pack cartrage that slots in to keep water chilled. think the price is way way expensive. spend another £600 get proper a/c fitted on roof. A&e leisure Northwich Cheshire are well known for fitting this for you

@@HereWeTow personal choice but fixed a/c can heat too. like wet central heating but takes 45 min to get warm a/c unit gives fairly instant heat. also takes moisture out of air which is good in that environment let me know how u get on if u contact a&e leisure. I am getting one fitted early next year b4 easter just saving up take care guys

Good review Jules, I got one at the October NEC show. As pointed out by some of the comments the Transcool is not an AC unit, it's basically a fan that blows air through a water soaked filter. It's better than a fan but not as good as real air conditioning. The thing is how often do you want air conditioning in a caravan - with windows and door open there's usually enough breeze to keep you cool. The Transcool has worked well for us on really hot days and with the various oils you get a lovely aroma. AC units are expensive, consume power and eat into the payload, they also sit on the roof, and high up weight is not recommended. But it's a personal choice and fine for people that want them, without the drawbacks mentioned I'd love one. I'd also love self levelling, built in water tanks and maybe a generator for when you're off grid. But I'd need a tank to pull it. A well know caravan vloger has one so it would be interesting to hear feed back from Mr T on his experience. One criticism of the Transcool it's seriously over priced so any one who wants one should take advantage of the show discount. 👍👍👍

Thanks for the vid but as others have alluded your title is misleading. It's evaporative and not airconditioning (as most think of aircon), and even their website is thus titled differently to your vid. On a hot dry day a couple of GBPs would get a water release / fan gadget and on a humid day standing in front of a fan would is way better than more moisture introduced (evaporates sweat fast LOL - but true). If too many insects buzzing some spray etc..............Like others have said it's an overpriced gadget . At 20 quid maybe add it to the pile of gadgets but at that RRP my coffee went all over the screen LOL :)......

I got one from the Glasgow show. Took it to Lake Garda in Italy and was nothing less that useless. We tried filling with Ice water adding ice cubes but did not bring the temp down quite the opposite we believe added to the temp. We had to bite the bullet and by a domestic AC unit for less than the Totalcool was. We are now looking for a smaller but proper Table Top AC unit for the van which may well be cheaper..

We have never used one Wayne so I don’t know how well it works. We were quite surprised by the comments when we did the vlog. I hope it works for you this summer 👍

It would be but it does add the to amount of moisture in the air as it’s an air cooler as opposed to air conditioning. It might be worth looking at small air con units if you want very cool air. Karina

Hi Gareth, I’m not clued up on electrics but when I pan down pointing at weights and warranty it says 4w per hour at low to 22w per hour on the top boost setting. Speaking to the guys at Total cool it has 45% cold air than the ambient temperature over 7 meters is what they have told me. Hope that helps 🤯🤯
