My problems with Cody are just the fact that he's tied to Sierra by the writers. She could've been eliminated a lot earlier, so Cody gets more moments to be himself: Dorky, but kinda clever. And I say that cuz this season still manages to have such cool Cody moments: Him winning over Tyler, Him punching Duncan, Him doing pretty well in China and Him being a useful helper in the final, pissing the shit out of Alejandro.

Favourite season and an excellent review of it, covering basically everything in a succinct way. TDWT used the well-known cast to its advantage by exploring new and old dynamics. It also had them often win via *strategy* rather than being dumber than their opponents. TDI is hardly comparable in tone to other seasons but, with the 26 episodes, TDWT was the series' best version of the more competitive version of TD. How was the musical season not the one jumping the shark?

Pro and cons about TDWT: PRO: - better narrative perspective and strong writting from beginning to the end regarding the casts storylines and interactions. - the cast is solid - new and nice auditions of Alejandro Sierra and Blaineley was much needed strong presence to the show by freshing out the OG cast in the season was good. - travelling around the world is a cool concept - the songs - the locations they visit - the challenges - the aftermaths who impacted every episode - less reward challenges makes the episodes easy to watch and not to skip - character developments for certain characters like Noah Tyler Cody and Heather - better relantioship between main protagonist Heather vs main antagonist Alejandro. - Alejandro is a top S tier best villain from the show. - Cody and Sierra dynamic - Lindsay and DJ's underrated friendship - The relantioship between Lindsay and Tyler - Team Amazon dynamic among teammates was cool - Heather's redemption arc as a protagonist - Heather and Alejandro competitive rivarly was gold - Noah and Owen's friendship - the final 4 castmates interactions with each other in the last 5 episodes made TDWT peakness great. - the last 5 episodes are top S tier iconic episodes to watch - the finale of the season was the cherry on top of the cake CONS: - Love triangle between Courtney Gwen & Duncan - Ezekiel Descend Into Madness as a Feral Zeke - DJ and the cursed mummified dog - Team Victory Distruction - Blaineley debuting in the competition - Duncan's return and Noah's unfair elimination - The breakups relantioships between Ozzy and Duncney - Izzy's evacuation in Jamaica - The relantioship between Duncan and Gwen - Some characters got easily flanderized or ruined like Leshawna Izzy Bridgette Harold DJ Gwen Duncan Ezekiel and Courtney by falling out from grace. - the elimination order in general - the idea of 3 teams was a bad concept

This video makes me realize how good a job World Tour did at keeping its early eliminations relevant throughout the season. Duncan returns, Ezekiel is a stowaway, Bridgette hosts the Aftermath, Harold competes in Hawaii and helps in the finale, etc. Geoff doesn’t even qualify for World Tour but gets more to do than contestants like Izzy! It just feels so refreshing compared to the previous two seasons. Obviously some characters returned and the Aftermath existed in TDA, but TDWT just makes it feel more fair across the whole cast. It also helps the season when contestants aren’t forgotten or relegated to the peanut gallery once they’re eliminated! World Tour’s aftermaths just feel more fun and alive compared to Action’s. I’m still bummed how the boys who would return for World Tour have NOTHING to contribute to all of TDA. The only characters who feel completely robbed of a moment of focus or something new to do this season were Eva and Katie. Had they given Eva like two more of those interviewing jobs than it would’ve felt like enough. But Katie is just there. Sadie doesn’t get a ton to do either, but at least she speaks in the finale and reacts to Heather and Alejandro’s kiss. That’s more than like, Gwen or DJ can say, lol.

They also make sure that in the dual endings, almost no winner gets to keep the money in the first three seasons so they have a reason not to call back to it...except Duncan. Heather and Alejandro lose it to the volcano. Owen and Gwen lose their hundred thousand for a chance at a million. And if you watch the version of celebrity manhunt where Beth was the winner it stated she had to use her winnings to get bailed out of jail. In Duncan's version, there is zero mention of him losing his winnings in any way. And considering it's Duncan, I can't believe the writers couldn't find one reason for him to lose it.

This season is great but my main issue is team victory. Seeing all of these fan favorite characters being first boots really sucks considering all of them have been in the merge before and this is their last competition season. I wouldn’t mind that much if they still had another season though I see that it’s probably hard to keep writing these characters though.

Blainley was so stupid to put as a contestant. They could have brought Noah back and had him further inform Owen of Alejandro, which ends with both off in one (via some doing of Alejandro.) That way you still get the two eliminations in one.

Dont fight me in the comment sections down bellow, Lindsay was by far the best competent interesting and great character from Team Victory as a whole. Still enjoy her presence in the season as a whole even though she got eliminated early I still found her presence a solid A tier character at best and love her relantioship with Tyler and the friendship between her and DJ and she is still similar in her character combinations much like in TDI funny likeable and nice as well as competent in challenges like in TDA with a better improvement.

These are all of my issues with this season: -terrible elimination order, a lot of characters like Duncan get more screen time for absolutely no reason and some eliminations are insulting like Harold’s. -character and relationship derailments, Ezekiel, DJ, Courtney(who was better in TDA imo), Duncan, Gwen. Ozzy, duncney, lyler(Tyler x Lindsay, they are reduced to kissing each other in the after math). There are also characters that are done wrong like Izzy, Tyler, Cody(to an extent), Noah, and all of team victory. -lack of humor after Noah and Tyler’s eliminations, which are both early boots again for no reason. The merge became extremely boring to watch due to more characters being there. -the love triangle made zero sense. They could’ve easily had a cold war between Noah and Alejandro instead which would’ve been far more interesting. -The season tries way too much: Songs in every episode. Love triangle. Aleheather . The general premise of it being on a plane and having a completely different vibe. Two added characters, one of them being terrible *cough* sierra. The aftermath being completely different. I know a lot of people will disagree, but I think this season stinks. It has too many issues and I’m sorry but alehaether doesn’t do it for me.(5.6/10)

Personally I didn't mind Cody and Seirra. I thought Sierra was funny enough that I didn't mind really mind her being there. Don't get me wrong Sierra is 1000% in the wrong and insane but it was never really presented as her being in the right about her behavior. Also her being there and basically carrying Cody to the end gave us songs like Condor and I'm gonna make it 2 of the best songs in the entire season so im not that mad. I do feel like the Sierra of it all did kinda overshadow Cody and didn't really make him feel useful sometimes but Cody was never the most out there or impactful character. But at least I thought they were funny enough in their interactions not to mind.
