@@AdamBlock It's pretty crazy/cool to get a few words, signifying a moment of attention from a famous astrophotographer and pixinsight architect like yourself.

Thanks for another great lesson Adam, sorry to hear you got clouded out. I was in northwestern VT with high clouds and mostly underexposed, so not great Corona or Earthshine but excellent Diamond Ring, Baily's Beads, and prominence visibility. In 2017 I had better exposures and no clouds in WY but poor focus. If I can convince my wife for Aus/NZ in 2028 maybe I can pull it all together. Until then Clear Skies to all!

Fantastic process to get the earthshine detail in the moon Adam! Looking forward to the 2028 eclipse in Australia 🇦🇺 and NZ Cheers Simon

A very neat process you show here. I went to SE Missouri and had clear skies, I had practiced bracketing with my Canon Ra and got that to work well, unfortunately I had connected the camera to Backyard EOS which I hadn't used in years to see if I wanted to use it and somehow it changed the capture mode to small JPEG only, so I didn't get any RAW files. Oh well, next time.
@AdamBlock7 ай бұрын
Sorry about that... yeah. I created several plans in advance... and just load the one I want. I of made certain I was capturing Raw (and Jpeg) and in the case of totality I was saving to camera only.

I too was in SE Missouri, Popular Bluff Wallmart parking lot to be exact with several hundred others. Adam, do you have or know of any Pixinsight tutorials on processing the eclipse images. I have around 200 of them and was wondering if the WBPP batch processing would work? FYI, I am from Tucson too. Rex

Adam, this is one of the best earthshine eclipse videos I’ve been able to find. I have some skeptical friends who don’t think it was possible to do this; did you take a video of you during the eclipse taking these?
@AdamBlock7 ай бұрын
You mean like me in front of my camera? No... but I do have the original raw images from the camera obviously. Bet a lot of money with this person... if hey are honorable..you will win the bet. lol
@AdamBlock7 ай бұрын
I mean..the video literally shows my raw image and adjusting it. Would you friend really think I was just a faker? And I would risk my reputation on this?
@bertpasquale56167 ай бұрын
@@AdamBlock exactly! I explained this is a common enough practice that many have done it, and no one has said it doesn’t work! Thanks for the replies!

Adam, we are having an eclipse in 2028 in Oz :) The Milky way is also very high that time of year.

Hi Adam, I took many different exposures times (.0025 sec, .2 sec, .6 sec, .2 sec, .6 sec, 1.3 sec, 1.6 sec) of the April 8th eclipse, can you point me to a video that educates me on how to combine these into a single image (I have both Photoshop and PixInsight)? Best Regards, Tim
