Ive been good so far in 2024. Glad to see you back! As to Piper, you have to do what’s best for your family and her. Getting her a new home with no kids or animals will possibly save her life.. cuz if she hurts anyone the county could put her down. Honestly, I thought you’d rehome her sooner, after the Leo incident. That was just… 😬😢 but I’m glad you gave her a chance. Hopefully you’ll find her a good home soon. And hopefully Ms Harlow will settle her booty down too. 😂

As a long time viewer, I know how much you love your animals and the choice you're making with Piper can't be an easy one to make, but I commend you for making it and doing what's best for your family and for Piper. I've been in this situation myself so I completely empathize with you on this.

Thank you ❤ it is a very hard decision. Piper has been in our family since she was 8 weeks old. This development in her traits is unfortunate but at the end of the day you do have to put your children first and I also think Piper will do so well in an environment that doesn’t test her in ways she feels she needs to attack other animals.

I know people tend to make a stink about rehoming animals but sometimes it’s the most responsible thing to do. If it’s not working, it’s not working. I know you love Piper so I know it’s a hard decision but it sounds like you’re doing exactly what’s needed. 🖤

We just had to do the same thing with one of our dogs. Such a hard decision to make but he was killing feral cata then turned to out indoor cats and killed one of them. We couldn't find a shelter that would take him and wouldn't take any chances of him snapping at the baby. I feel for you, it's hard but we are lucky to be able to make those decisions in the long run. ❤

Oh boy! I have an 18m boy who is still not speaking but he motions to me that he wants a snack and when Im about to give him the snack that *he wanted* he proceeds to fall on the floor and have a meltdown and I’m over here like “what did just happened?” So I hear you on the tough phase! Also, I am a huge animal lover and before kids I always said I would never give up on a pet (so far I had amazing dogs so easy to say that of course) but man, once you have kids it changes. You did what you could with your dog but it comes to a point where it becomes a safety issue. I am glad you’re making that decision and I hope you soon find a loving home for your dog.

I completely agree. My oldest is 2 years old (just turned 2 May 22) and she is so polite and well mannered. She wont even get handed something she asks for unless she says please and thank you. Trying to teach her to be aware of others around her, and her surroundings too. Too many people (and kids) are just fucking aloof as to anything or anyone around them. It does my head in.

I don’t have two, I just have the one. But, ours is 3.5 and in that testing phase. Some of it is funny and some of it is nerve racking. I definitely couldn’t imagine having to handle it with an infant also. My sister did and I saw how difficult it was for her. Just take deep breaths when you can. I’m glad to hear daycare has been a lifesaver, but I can also understand your reservations about it. Due to Covid and having our own fears, we didn’t put ours in school for two years, we do and then that daycare had its issues and wasn’t a good fit. The place she’s at now is phenomenal and our daughter has flourished. Finding the good fit definitely makes all the difference, so I’m happy for your journey towards that goal.

Wow, i have been off social media and totally out of the loop since I had my son 18 months ago...i am so sorry to hear about Leo 💔 As an RVT, i have unfortunately seen a few cases where dogs were brought in for behavioral euthanasia 😔 i really hope you find a great fit for Piper. Anyways, you are killing it as a mom, us new moms have to stick together and uplift each other. I've always wanted 2 children, but I am so on the fence because I would most likely be closer to 34 if we have a second which would put my son at 4 😵‍💫 having kids definitely changes your entire being, for the best, but it is a huge adjustment. Keep on keeping on!

Childcare is the whole reason why a lot of people refuse to have more than one or any kids tbh. I have one, and I would love 3 kids. I grew up with 2 older siblings and I’m forever fortunate that we each have a great bond and communicate daily even with different time zones. I want that for my son but my god why is it so expensive and hard to find a reliable daycare that won’t break the bank. We have that “village” but even then I don’t want to add more responsibility onto it by adding another kid. It sucks, I would love a big family, but idk if financially we can do it. Sorry on a rant lol I’m so happy your back. I’m a die hard for YT, tiktok & Instagram reels aren’t my jam lol I need 25-45 min videos to hangout with my favorites lol

When I was in highschool we had two dogs that had lived together for 8+ years just started fighting. And it wasnt over food, it would just randomly start, even if they were both sitting on the couch by you they would just start going at it. They were both similar sizes so thankfully then never killed each other and we would always have to intervene and it was terrifying. LUCKILY for us and both our dogs, our grandparents took one in so they wouldnt fight but even that decision was so hard since we loved both dogs sooooo much but at the end of the day you have to do everything to keep all parties (humans and dogs) invoved safe. Do what is best for your family and we all know that you would never just throw an animal away like some other people would, you will find Piper a good home and make sure she is safe.

I chose formula from day 1 and have no regrets at all. It’s all about what works best for you!! I’m a stay at home mom with no friends or family close to me so it’s just me all day until my husband comes home at 6. I love it though and wouldn’t change it for the world!! There’s so many scary stories these days at day care or with baby sitters, I don’t trust anyone with my son. He’s 21 months. I’m loving being with him all day and will be like this until he’s 6 and goes to school. We have lost 2 babies so I’m cherishing every single minute with my son. Wow you’re lucky your daycare asks you what she can have for snacks! Here they don’t get to approve or disapprove their meals and snacks. It’s all a set menu and approved just by the staff.

Kristen, people may tell me I’m so wrong, but you HAVE to read the ACOTAR series and Crescent City series. I’ve never read fantasy before, but I could NOT put them down. It’s like, super smutty fantasy though. I dont know, just my two cents, but so worth it haha. Edit to add after the Piper part: Sometimes you have to make hard decisions to put your family first. From someone who has been down the training road, it does not always work the way we want it to. It’s a tough spot to be in… lots of love and support though.

After about 2 months after the incident my anxiety just couldn't let up. And he also just kept killing the chickens. We had to rehome him and he now lives in michigan having a beautiful life. We push that hard and by the time we pick her up at the end of the day, they've gone out the window so we have to always stay on top of it. I get why you need to rehome Piper and it is the sensible thing to do all round. But please please please don’t get another dog until your children are older and your lifestyle is conducive to having a dog. I know I’m going to get hate for saying that but I see too many people who get pets and quickly realise that it is a massive commitment that they can’t accommodate.
@dhall75608

I get what you’re saying and I do agree, but I don’t think their issue wasn’t necessarily this. They tried all they could and I think that rehoming to a place where Piper is the only animal and no kids live there is a smart choice. If Piper wasn’t aggressive towards other animals, I think they’d of had no issues keeping her.
@KristenxLeanne

I appreciate so much where you’re coming from. Our issue isn’t time - our issue is her not playing well with others and it being a danger to our children. If and when we adopt another dog, I would be interested in adopting a dog that is around 3 years + that’s been with one family and we KNOW they have done wonderfully with children ❤

@@dhall75608you’re spot on. We have time for our dog - we did implement and pay for loads of training as well. It’s been great for everyone. 😊 she loves it

@@KristenxLeanne I’m glad to hear you’re getting a little zen. And I do understand the whole dog thing. Rehoming now is far better than dealing with the repercussions that would come if she attacked one of your children. Without going into detail, I’ll just say that I have the experience in that a bit, and although all ended up fine, it’s not a fun place to be. Dogs are wonderful pets to have. We have two, but we also have to remember they are still an animal and have to be careful as well.

I agree. Getting another dog only to have to rehome them too would be wrong. Even if a rescue claims they can do well with kids or other animals, you can’t really know until they’re in the home. Best to wait until kiddos are older!

As a single Mom of five (I’m 70 now), it certainly was challenging, esp day care. I was fortunate to have an awesome sitter when I worked. However, when the twins were born, I chose being a daycare provider so I could be with them. The older kids were in a by then. Breastfeeding was challenging but I managed to do so until they were 9 months. Raising them without a partner was definitely challenging. I totally give you props as with all the animals you have, you are raising many mouths. You are blessed to have support from your loving husband. How wonderful to have such supportive parents as well. So happy for you. Sorry about Piper 😢 tough choice but the right one. Sending love and positive energy your way. Glad to see you making videos again. You are an awesome role model 🤗 🥰

I had this same problem with my dog before having kids, once I had them she got aggressive but was sweet with everyone else. We rehomed her and a year later ended up getting a puppy and he’s the best. He grew up with my babies and is so sweet and tolerant. I know that sounds crazy but if you do end up wanting another dog I would suggest getting a puppy instead that way you know they’re raised with your kids

That's great! So I have hesitiations about a puppy BC Piper was with Leo (and other animals like Jojo the cat he just attacked) since she was 8 weeks old. So the aggression kinda just ramped up in certain situations with food etc. Someone did tell me that this happened out of nowher with their dog, and the dog was having thyroid issues and they fixed it and it went away. But this is a little different bc I see what triggers it! So i think I might be more comfortable with an adopted dog from a reputable rescue that KNOWS everything about the dog and has seen a behaviorist and has BEEN around children and babies and we know they did great with it

I have 5 kiddos. Ages 11-3 with a set of twins and from my experience 3-6 is the hardest. 2 years old they are figuring themselves out but 3 and on is a whole new world 😂 If you need a good book look at Dangerous Angels (Weetzie Bat books) by Francesca Lia Block. Its AMAZING! As far as Piper goes, you're making the right decision. You need to feel safe and your family feel safe with the animals you have inside your home❤

Wow Kristen this video really has you pulling on my heart strings. I've had golden retrievers my whole life and in my early 20's my ex surprised me with a Pomeranian which I had always wanted, my Pom is now going to be 12 in April and my goldens are 5 yrs old and I got a puppy who is 4 months and I just couldn't imagine being put in the situation you've been in. Idk what I wouldve done and I remember when you told us poor Leo was gone due to being attacked. It blows my mind she did that but I also know that sometimes the females can be aggressive we have all boy dogs rn. I applaud you for doing what's right for your kids and other animals. AND then on top of everything else you got going on, girl your one strong woman and if you haven't give yourself a pat on the back for what an amazingly badass you are. I hope and pray you can find a good home for Piper and it all goes smoothly. I hope you can return to KZbin we miss you here but I also understand your plate is full and I do check in with you on IG with that newer feature they have. Just want you to know sending you all the love and positive vibes and I know you probably know that its all temporary, such as Harlow not wanting to give Mama guys (like cmon baby girl dont forget who birthed you 🤣 JK) YOU GOT THIS MAMA, honestly I feel if anyone could get thru it all its you! Seeing your greybie makes me miss mine. I have a scar on my left wrist and forearm due to being bitten by a dog. I was a toddler when I was bitten, we were visiting my godparents, and being a toddler I tried to feed the dog. I don’t have any memories of it occurring, and I don’t have a fear or hate toward dogs. It’s sad that you have to rehome Piper, but you’ve don’t everything you could possibly do to avoid it without success. She would probably do well with someone that is very active.
