Hi, you should improve your weapons on all your soldiers ! You can do so in the province with the forge, when an army is in it the soldiers that haven't been upgraded have a yellow arrow pointing up. Just scroll on them, choices will appear and one of them is upgrade. It costs a couple bucks but worth it!

You have had the chance to upgrade soldiers in numerous locations. Just keep an eye out for the gold ribbon on the unit portrait.

u can use garnison troops(cuz they are for free) in sige to stop the enemy siege equipment and let your archers time to put it on fire

Jon, dunno if you know or not but when you take on warriors you don’t get extra regen, you take 5% of...something or maybe you also get the 5% extra normal replenishment...oh and it also takes XP from your units that receive the new men.

You get 150% raiding income, with full pillager you can make thousands per turn. You have to focus everything on a single tower, or ram. Also docked towers can still take fire damage if fire arrows are used.

Hi Jon, in the first episode you said that you can't upgrade your starting units with basic weapons and armor while they are in your province that has the armorer. You can upgrade them. When you move an army with non-upgraded units into this province a yellow up arrow appears. Click on the specific unit and an option to pay for an upgrade appears. Hope this helps!

RIGHT JON LISTEN HERE YOUVE HAD THIS PROBLEM YOUR WHOLE TOTAL WAR CAREER when you wanted your cavalry to circle around the walls and hit their archers you gave each movement command individually but if you hold shift you can queue seperate commands so you couldve held shift and then gave the command to move to the other gate then move outside then run along the walland finally attack the archers instead of waiting for them to reach their destination each time to give a new command

man, digging this, and the setting! The Vikings show was, bleh, but did turn me on to this period a bit! Also, when beseiged, I think since Rome 2, having some units move out against the enemy is viable, especially with the line of sight mechanics! Pretty sure you know, but FYI! also, no ways, cav is DEF still viable, it's just that now missile can be a good deterrant, actually killing the horses. Spelled deterant wrong...and again! damnit.....but anyways, yea, jav and archers are great on the flanks. oh, also, pretty sure you/ve already recorded, so just in case you didn't see, yea, upgradeable units have the yellow chevron at the top left corner. pretty sure when you click on them, group click, there should be some sort of "prompt" on the units....thingy, like edicts but for units, and you can upgrade them in the province. something like that I'm pretty sure, how it was in Rome 2.

He accentuates the end of some words with uh, or elongates the end of the last syllable, i’m just curious, is this a personal quirk or is it common with a specific english accent. Then English seem to have more accents than the welsh, Scottish, and Irish combined. I’d like to better discern the different city accents

Please right click and upgrade all those units you can upgrade whenever your in Colchester. Also bro why arent you ever using shield-castle and wedge, wedge especially on your light-cav. You keep moaning about cav being ineffective at charges (obviously light-cav are in this period) yet you dont wedge, wheel and rehit. The wedge honestly makes that crucial difference, just remember to turn it off if you stay in combat for long beacuse it nerfs general meelee-damage in favour of charge bonus.

Maybe this is just me, but between how many factions there are, their incomprehensible names, how quickly areas change hands, and how quickly actions go by, I can't tell what the hell is going on. I don't know who's who, I don't know wh's allied to who, I don't even know who Jon's playing as anymore. It just seems like the Total War team is trying to do too much on too small a map.

wasn't that bad. primarily it was the divided Viking factions (Jon being a viking) near Jon and some angle factions to the south and west of him. to the north were Viking factions and go far enough that Scots. to the west Mercia was consolidating and absorbing the Welsh, which is rather unfortunate for everyone. he repeatedly points out that in the coming days Wessex will develop it's economy and technology while he tries to prevent it. Mercia looming in the background will likely look for new nations to take and could be the rather large straw that breaks the game for the Vikings. Jon has been debating whether or not to attack and unite the Vikings or work with them to defeat Wessex before concerning himself with mercia
