This is your best video yet, great choice of terrain and although your opponent didn't use his army to best effect you still did a great job of dealing with that build and I'd say it's probably your best battle that we've seen, great job man.

I'd never looked into this game prior to this video, but I must say that the gameplay combined with your thoughtful narrative and play-by-play has definitely got me interested. So many youtubers just don't understand how to properly narrate, so it's nice to see when people do it right.

Seriously, this is one of the most beautiful battles I've ever seen! (keeping in mind that this is a game, not real war) I loved the tactical explainations by the way, that's what I love about this type of vid, you can watch the beauty unfold while learning something. Keep up the great work Heir! :D

Here you can clearly see the earlier battles were fought. Man on man, strength against strength. Your best friends die and still continue fighting for your home can still be seen. That's what wars were before. Great respect for them!! Thumps up if you agree ;)

Heir 1 thing i think you should mention is the morale shock when your OWN matchlocks are shooting near your men. Loan swords especially will rout near the general but samurai suffer too. All that missle fire at the rear demorlizes them.

Heir, please do a cinematic more often, that cinematic would have amazing alone, but when you throw in that music it has an emotional feel to it. Maybe it's just because I watched the last samurai a few days ago, but I shed a single manly tear.

The cinematic at the end was really nice. Great feel to it. Well done, particularly I enjoyed the music and the slow motion effects. Those matchlock charged in the rear with the cavalry (19:02) was really cool. I think CA should make it possible to disable all GUI when showing replays, the stuff up in the corners as well as a few tooltips took away a little of the movie feeling. You should definitely make more of this, perhaps an entire battle?

Great video.Subscribed to channel. Wonder how/if this could be used in the class room? Had friend who taught ROTC and he divided his class into teams. Each week he would have the various teams play a computer simulation executing one or two moves and the next class he would show the result each groups decision on the simulated battlefield. Not sure what the sim/game was, but since it was 2-3 years ago was not nearly as sophisticated as this. Would like your thoughts. Probably buy this game.

just a tip for the sony vegas cinematic thing. you can shrink the edges of the screen in editing ever so slightly which gets rid of the time bar and the some of the other stuff in the left hand corner. It makes it look really professional and nice. Still great cinematic.

@HeirofCarthage ok now I seemwhat you meant by a sweet video. Very nicely played and edited :). One piece of advice--try to match the speed of play to the music (in this case very slow). Because you are adding in external music you can actually slow down a particular clip past normal slow motion (using Sony Vegas). I'm thinking of the enemy general death scene in particular. Now if you had a drums-beating, adrenaline-pumping kind of music, you may want to play a lot of the battle in regular m

How good are hero units in Shogun 2? The Kensei/sword saint in old Shogun could potentially stand up against a unit of low- to mid-grade melee troops. They were independent units, but I prefered using them in support of other assault formations.

@corpral13 I never pack too many as well. All it takes is for your enemy to have either some matchlocks or warrior monks and with one good volley or battle cry, your morale drops. On the flip side, if you are a leadership general and rally and get into stand and fight, a loan sword army is a good idea. Fantastic attack stats, cheap and with the morale bonuses, you can actually stand and fight against better troops.

Heir do you believe it is possible/playable to have naginata monks as a core for your army because ever since the nerf on them I have found its very hard to win with a nag monk core and i just dont see nag monks used as a core anymore its more often what you use which is a samurai nag core. So do you believe that monk nag cores are dead?
