Blood was a paid DLC ever since Rome 2. And I would event tolerate that if it was any good, but that blood effects are so bad, a lazily done work. After 30 seconds of fight all the units are just almost completely red. It looks so bad.

@@mikek6159 lol grand theft auto has always been marketed and sold with an M rating though, literally meant for 17+ a couple of them had an AO (adults only). and total war has been sold as a T rated game from the beginning which doesnt mean kid friendly. CA didnt change their standards the MSRB did. there was plenty of blood in older total war titles but the graphics were miles behind what we have today and so if CA wants better graphics in their games but keep the T rating they have to pull back on the blood. its 100% about the marketability of the title. not to mention CA is actually willing to deliver gory animations and blood effects that we as consumers want when they actually dont have to, so why shouldnt we pay for it? calling a $2.00 dlc a cash grab is really something else though. Especially when you consider how much FLC they give us kinda like how this game is even gonna be free on release

Your saying blood and gore in a TOTAL WAR game is a priveledge i cant agree there. They dont give free content often and even so the blood and gore is what should be the free content if they cant add it due to marketing. I am skeptical about this release because of the release of the hyped up Three Kingdoms when it ended up being a stillbirth of a game, one i was excited for and that ended with extreme disappointment. No surprise that game got free dlc but it was too late for that games community by that point. Troy being free? I've also noticed that duels can take place inside enemy or ally formations too. Soldiers will make a circle around the two heroes and behold as they fight each other. Nice touch, really.

Overall, so hyped for this but a lot of things need fixing: 1. battles are too fast (5-7 min) 2. infantry hold spears in a weird way 3. textures on some are good, and on other units are bad 4. Achilles face needs a whole new texture, not to mention the way the shield is held, and his twisty "bronze" armor sponsored my Good Year apparently 5. Sound effects, clunky at best 6. unit variation non-existent, its like an army of cousins and clones 7. Troy in itself, feels empty, not the bustling city that is the envy of the Mycenaean world! 8. Hectors lower armor is distorted I surely hope these stuff get sorted out before launch! was looking forward to this

The way the game looks, and units behave, even the mechanics like "long grass" reminds me of Total War : Arena. ACtually, it is a Total War : Arena reskinned for bronze age and singleplayer. Not saying it's a bad thing...I loved Arena and I would play it even today. I am actually sad they closed it.

If you want our money, you need to make medieval 3. Take medieval 2 and -add better graphics -add all the things in battle you just show -add naval battles like Napoleon total war -add more factions, different armies etc like the mods that already exist in medieval 2 by fans. -add more options in negotiations, make it easier to have vassals, make marriages matter more, maybe more specific trade agreements etc etc -add more events similar to Mongol invasions -add civil wars when your faction leader die unexpectedly with many sons. Bigger factions must have bigger civil wars. -fix all the bugs of medieval 2 Maybe add some more ideas of your team and its GG.

Putting in my two cents, I don't think the graphics are bad. It's a bit cartoony, but we know so little about the actual time period that I can forgive that. What I won't forgive are half a dozen day 1 dlcs for things that should've been in at launch, like factions, or BLOOD! CA, Sega, whoever, please stop with the greed. Please.

What happened to the historical total wars, for a while you guys were different than the others. You didn’t have these 10 foot tall boss creatures with the game. That ruins it for some of us.

It honestly looks like it would be a cool game. Almost like the Rome 3 or Medieval 3 we wanted and ToB couldn’t quite achieve. But they totally ruined it by adding the damn heroes and strong solo units that belong in war hammer. Just because of that and how the game looks with tons of chariots, quick moving infantry, and probably not as many unit abilities, I can tell it’ll also be super fast games without good sieges, also like warhammer. They basically combined fantasy with history yet again and that’s not what we want. Also I know that they try to make it historical with the absence of cav, but having little to no cav removes a big part of the game people really liked. It just seems super arcady where units aren’t as valuable and don’t kill as much

Man..., this is really cool. But I'm still hoping one day there will be southeast Asian kingdom in Total war series. We have may empire in mainland and Archipelago, From Khamer to Srivijaya, Ayuttaya to Majapahit, and do not forget Champa and Da'viet.

Am I the only one that thinks , all new total war games look the same with colorful raphics and bad gameplay.I think we will never see Medieval 3 total war because of that. My total war games ends with Shogun 2 total war, which is the best total war ever.

Well, if you saw the movie/read the Iliad, then you'd know it would make perfect sense to have character duels in battles in a game based on the Trojan War... I would actually be surprised in a negative way if they didn't copy paste the duel system from 3K..

They try so hard to sell you the same game over and over again. Same features presented as if they were revolutionary. You'll end up hammer and anvil or surrounding your enemies like you did since rome total war. Never will you have the chance to play out a battle like the Battle of Cannae
