I think you make a great point about nurglings always being available. Makes space for other things in buildings and gives you a fallback option. Nurglings also aren't that good compared to some tier1 units so it would hardly cause issues with balance

I think the best change they could do for Nurgle recruitment would be the ability to “prune” tiers. Pay a certain amount of infections to just remove a tier of your choice You no longer get access to those units but it allows the cycle to be much faster

I’ve noticed that some places like the forbidden citadel with the buffs the iron mine has make it the place to be like, “oh I build this and the military building and it just makes sense” and it would for any faction that relies on regular recruitment that has you in the area to build your army, so it seems like a stupid oversight

One of the biggest buffs related to Episdemius and his last unique skill: the range of the summons is now infinite, so you can do what drycha does and drop them directly onto artillery from the other side of the map, or land them on capture points in a siege. When you get extra uses from spreading plagues that will become an absolute nightmare for enemies to deal with lol

I have an opinion that nurgle range shots if they hit nurgle allies, should heal them

Every other faction in the game can in theory recover from losing their army early in the game. Nurgle potentially having literally no units to recruit after losing their initial army is kind of mental and imo a huge oversight

You'd have to be pretty reckless to manage it, but when warhammer 3 release and some of us content creators did a big multilayer campaign I did end up having nothing to recruit because auto resolve was killing my units left right and centre. Had to resort to military alliance recruitment

@@koren7783 True, but even losing half your army in a victory could be devastating if you don't have any more units to recruit to get you back up to 20. It just seems like a completely unnecessary restriction

The pox rider ror might also be skewed in their effectiveness because they are so high rank. Pox riders might just need to lvl up a bit to become good?

About the unit cap I mean it makes sense on Chaos God factions with mortal units to be uncapped; Champions of nurgle, plague cultists etc. I kinda repeat this again but Chaos God factions shouldn't even have gold as a currency, all you really care about & treasure is your patron God's favor and every blessing, unit, settlement structure is essentially a gift from that god. So it makes absolute sense tha every demon unit would be capped cause if you make papa Nurgle happy than papa Nurgle will bestow upon you his minions, not so with mortals cause those are people you convert to your side from the general populus, it's sth happening irrespecitve of how much papa Nurgle loves or hates you.

side note: normal toads can be pretty sweet if you use them exclusively on flanks...there really is nowhere for them to scatter to other than farther down the line.

I understand the nurgle point but if you lose your starting army basicly almost with amy faction because you made an opsie you should just restart the campaign especially on higher difficulty. I think even if you could recruit basic units only you would still be in a very bad position. ( It's true imo with amy faction) And since it's mainly a single player game you should have fun.

Nurglings shouldnt be free but they should be unlimited in numbers so that you can always recruit them

Yeah, what I meant was they should be infinate and avaliable everywhere. That would also mean Ku'gaths trait would see him able to pull Nurgling stacks out of his arse if resources allowed which is better than nothing!

@@MonstersAbound Sorry, but that's a terrrible idea. Nurgle has no recruitment capacity limit, so infinitely available, instantly recruitable armies of nurglings would be broken beyond belief. A much more reasonable approach would be having capital settlements generate nurgling units every turn or 2. Reworked Warriors of chaos have similar recruitment limitations and nobody ever accused those campaigns of being challenging.

@@Gr_ywind Vampire counts don't have infinite raise dead units, nor do they have instant recruitment time with infinite recruitment capacity for regular units.

@@nutellac3695 I didn't say they had infinite recruitment, I said what you suggested is much much weaker than what the VC have right now, which is what MA was talking about. Raise dead is instant, coming back from the dead is also, and with proper management you'll never ever struggle with numbers unless you're quite shite.

All this work and Nurgle will still be the weakest faction, and by some margin. All issues that made it a problem faction are still here, and for some lords it's somehow even worse. How the living hell do you redesign multiple faction mechanics and still manage to make them completely irrelevant. The actual fuck? The more I watch the Nurgle DLC stuff the more I come to understand that all of CA's talent sit in the art department, the mechanic and balance folk seem to be a bunch of slobbering midlanders who dream they could work for Blizzard for the free breast milk...

I sincerely hope I'm talking out of my arse, and I've been trying to find info that confirms I am but nothing solid so far. Gonna have to try Epidemius first, or wait for the drop to see which creators are shills and which are honest.

Nurgle is not looking bad at all. Slower start, but you can see that MA is slowly starting to snowball. I don't remember him making this much money early on in the Kugath campaign. And plagues are becoming more widespread, although I do think plague effects could have been stronger.

@@pavlepavlovic4073 Plagues still appear to be a side though except for Epidemius, and even he struggles with it until mid-late game. This, AI not giving a fudge about them nor attrition, the issues of feast and famine, and unit depletion is still very much here is... problematic. Sure, my man Nurgle is a tad stronger, but now go watch the new roided out dwarf rework who conquers half the world by turn 60 and tell me this is "fine". 🤪

@@Gr_ywind Not every faction needs to be Skarbrand and conquer the world, and I do hope Dwarfs will be nerfed they look way too strong. If they made plagues stronger and more consequential and also added certain units to always be free and available, with more being unlocked through the tech tree it would be great. I mean the rework is pretty good, compared to the past Nurgle who struggled with just about everything. The economy is so much healthier, plagues while still not that amazing are much better, and the tech tree is finally good. I know what you mean with half-ass work and CA, and yeah they are prone to that, but this time around for Nurgle they did a very decent rework, although these extra tidbits would have been nice.

You know it's funny since Froggos are ostensibly cavalry meant for attacking infantry, I actually find them much more useful at attacking characters. I was able to win a siege defense against a full stack Katarin by using towers, camping a healing barricade, and using a group of froggos to tie up Katarin the entire battle since she could only attack 1 at a time before getting bowled over. Since they're quite tanky and have large hitboxes, single entities take forever to kill them. Of course they're not gonna tank a vortex beast or N'kari, but a steam tank will spend 15+ minutes doing nothing all battle, which is worthwhile in its own way imho.
