Nu total war (post rome 2 ) is very bad for huge , invested campaings unless you do stuff like DEI, particularly warhammer games, you play those for the pretty lights and funy monsters, not for the total war experience of actually building an empire and army.

Glad to see Jon play this game! I will be so happy to see if he's going to do more in the future. The Chaos Dwarfs were a long time coming, and are very welcome to the game and faction roster. And Chaos Dwarfs have the best drip hands down.

actually kinda complicated story with the Hobgoblins, they are Slaves and aren't at the same time, see the Chaos Dwarves had something happen to them a large Greenskin revolt, and most of the Greenskin Slaves they had joined the revolt, all except the Hobgoblins, who decided to side with the Chaos Dwarves in putting the other Greenskins in their place, and are basically persona non grata in greenskin society from that point onwards.

Unfortunately i don't think there's much hope for more complicated economies. Specifically regarding the slave stuff, its pretty much what the Dark elves had pre-wh3. To my eyes,(given the apparent dev timeline) it looks like while they were planning Chaos dwarves initially, they planned to have a slavery mechanic but not have it be the same as dark elves, so they developed this one, then found that it works better if this armaments system was coupled with the DElf version of slaves better, so they swapped them around and gave elves the Jank one instead (it also promoted the shiny new race over the older ones, which is generally good for profits). Kinda feels bad to see a new race get the fun\unique mechanic that was just removed from another race only a year earlier.

@@pedrobettt you get the warhammer 3 campaign yes. But there is no mortal campaign where it’s the short or long campaign victory of defeating every other faction instead of going for the bear.

@@Monkeyshines. You don't have to own WH1-3 for Immortal Empires. With WH3 aloine you get immortal empires but only with the WH3 races. For others you need to pervious DLCs and WH2/WH1. They've changed that in February or so
