Hey Brother she don't need to be a show boat , just water proof as much as possible , love how you take pride in your stuff . Our kids are grown so we consolidated and got a 16 ft. alum. boat for lakes and small ocean fishing , I guess it might tow a kneeboard , we got 5 decent bass today , pretty windy in Norcal ,she's looking good !

I have a 1989 Renken 1700 with a 2.3l ford ranger motor. We are doing the same exact thing. We almost have our 3/4 harbor sheeting all cut and put down. We had to redo all of the ribs and supports. Two of the small side supports were all rotten out but the fiberglass still had a form so we filled it with resin and it holds screws well. We are planning on putting 24oz fiberglass on the decking connecting to the side walls of the boat. Once done, looking to pour an epoxy floor on top. IDK why they didn't fully mold fiberglass supports in these boats... It's great seeing we are not the only ones having the time of our lives doing this time-aching reno project. I'm only doing this since I bought the boat for $1k and the engine runs great with 136 hours on it. Thanks for the video!

I need to get some of that. I built a floor for my little 14ft gamefisher tri hull and one thing I learned is I suck at fiberglass work lol. I guess I just need to keep practicing

Just watched your primer video. Commented on my rebuild of a '58 MFG runabout. I decided to go with the Total Protect primer, JD select blue bottom paint (probably overkill, I live on freshwater, but it may spend some extended time in the water) and Wet edge white for all the rest. I am using total boat penetrating epoxy on the bow; it was pretty damaged and checked from lack of maintenance. And I am laying a sheet of fiberglass on the transom just to sure it up as far as waterproofing. I am using 105 resin and 205 hardener. For the wood I am using Halcyon clear. I just figured my best option was go with all total boat stuff because it should be compatible, and they seem to be good products. I guess in about a week my bottom and sides up to the gunwale will be done. Very exciting, our hopes are for it to see the water by June, hopefully sooner.

Love the channels Kurt. Keep up the awesome content. Not sure what you are laying for paint but, Chemsol makes a great non-skid product like Naval decking on a warship PRF-24667. Good stuff if you aren't already committed.
