Dark fate was so underwhelming. The baddie was good, the acting was ok, but there was just no... moment. I’ll say is about as good as T3 - the baddies in DF was better, but the amazing scenes of the ‘first moments’ of skynet , and that the nuclear war can’t be avoided in T3 were great.

Often in love stories, we men feel determined to protect the women we love at all costs, it's a feeling most men can identify with and relate to it in classic movies. 2:34 ........glad he mentioned this particular stunt. That scene of Reese coming out of time travel and that body slamming onto the ground like a slab of ribs ALWAYS blew me away. I've always thought DAAAAAAAAAAMN that had to hurt whomever done that. You can see his head bounce off that solid ground. Hope they paid that stuntman good cause that shot added so much to the harsh realism of the movie.

@poseidon50038 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed the Kyle Reese character. Biehn really brought out the "borderline psychotic" side of the character. I'm not insuting the films hero here, but the guy was a bit PTSD. Can't blame the guy really. Friggin machines shooting at him all his life and all. The desperation of the character was lost in Genysis. I am all for the original all the way.
@dostagirl95518 жыл бұрын
Yeah. You really saw it in the deleted scenes where he flips out at a park. However, I'm glad that they cut that scene...it was too over the top, especially right before the love scene between him and Sarah. The audience would have been like "Why are you kissing that lunatic?" Instead, he played it just right. Tightly wound but always in control.
@WorthlessDeadEnd7 жыл бұрын
I saw Genisys in the theater, and I haven't wanted to watch it again since. I haven't even pirated that shit. It would have been better to completely reboot the movie and stay faithful to the canon of the story than to fuck with everything we knew and loved. The Terminator saga ended in 2008 with Bale.

I was thinking the exact same thing.. about how Biehn does such a good job of looking totally carnal and strung out. All thin and muscular, in bum clothing, intense but dissociated look in his eye, like when he's following Sarah at the beginning of the movie.
@dostagirl95518 жыл бұрын
Omg...I had such a HUGE crush on him as Kyle Reese when I was a kid. And I find it so sweet that he describes what I take as an example of chivalrous courtly love towards Hamilton during the filming. Makes watching it even more bittersweet.

The original Terminator movie will always be my favourite out of all of them. I get that the mainstream probably enjoy T2 the most, but to me the original is the perfect Terminator movie. Its a dark, gritty, sci-fi/horror, thriller. Whereas i think T2 is more of a fun, over-the-top action blockbuster, buddy-buddy movie. The Dyson subplot breaks the building tension and pacing in T2, but the original keeps the pacing and tension building because its 100 percent focused on the protagonists desperately trying to stay one step ahead of the Terminator all the way through the movie, and the protagonists are always out matched. But the protagonists in T2 aren't outmatched because they have a Terminator always there protecting them.

Yeah its a cracking film, mate. I was only 14 years old when it came out. God knows how many times I've watched it over the years. Never gets old. Funny how things have changed. Dark Fate is a movie i wouldn't even bother watching. I dont understand the reasoning behind killing off John Connor and replacing him with the Dani Ramos character. Thats just crazy. Hollywood are putting some really dodgy movies out these days. I think politics are ruining movies.

@@laetitialogan2002 Definitely. I love that film. To be honest i prefer 80's movies in general compared to modern movies. Its not just a nostalgia thing either, because there definitely have been a few recent movies that i thought were brilliant. 'Upgrade' for instance was a cracking good sci-fi movie. In general though i just seem to find myself enjoying 70's, and 80's sci-fi and horror movies more than the current Hollywood films that we get now.

Cameroon considered having Biehn play the evil Terminator in T2 (uh...why the heck would Skynet build a cyborg that looks exactly like Kyle Reese???!!) while Arnold was then the hero terminator-role reversal. Glad to hear some behind the scenes, the stunt (as described @2:05) where Kyle arrives in the present is *totally* crazy to me. I know a lot of people are saying, "what's the big deal, he just dropped onto concrete?", but a *much* smaller fall for me ended with a hip and femur shattered in 4 different locations and a lifetime reminder of what a mistake I'd made. Stunt performers are total badasses as far as I'm concerned, and don't usually get anywhere *near* the recognition they deserve.

I remember that! I was born in 1981 and the 1st time I saw The Terminator was 87/88 (I think). I remember that particular showing of the movie on BBC2 because I taped it and had it for years. I must have watched that tape at least 100 times :) Moviedrome was great. I was introduced to all sorts of cult classics by that. This is back when the Internet was not as widely used as today and there wasn't really any other way to see movies like The Terminator except when it was released on VHS and you got a loan of it from someone's older brother or sister or whatever.
