Than you for the video. This may be a stupid question but how do you put the straps on your ankles so that the strap does not come from under your foot?

This looks great ! I started working out my legs with the bottoms part of the total gym and it’s worked in the past for me as well. Just wondering though, how hard is it to detach that ankle thing from your leg when your done with your leg pulley workout

Great vid + instruction. Thx However, hamstring curl isn't correct but rather is leg extension.

Thank you for mentioning that correct level to start to help me. Has a beginner what level you start out is very important. But other instructors missed that important instruction . Which is what level should we start at as beginners? This young lady did a good job of mentioning the levels to start with. Thank you very much 😊

Enjoyed the video and the tips included. A few mistakes with the targeted muscles. Abduction works the muscles on the outside of the hip/thigh. Adduction works the muscles of the inner thigh. This is backwards in the video. Also, the "hamstring curl" is actually a quadriceps exercise.

Thank you for clarifying the use of the leg accessory. Just bought a Fit model recently and been using it quite regularly. I'm really enjoying the convenience and variety of exercises it offers. Your video makes it better because of the detailed instructions shown.

Good video but I sense that portions of the exercises you demonstrate may not work well for me because of my height. I'm 6'6" tall. When I tried the very first exercise where you say to bend your off knee and rest your foot on the platform, there is no platform left for me to rest my foot, even with my head as high up on the board as possible. I did the exercise with my off foot in mid air. Is this dangerous? It doesn't feel dangerous and I can feel my hamstring working.

Hi, I've just started working out on my total gym and the rope for the leg pulley system seems longer than the ones I see in the videos. When I attach everything, it seems to be too long and coils up on the floor. Should I tie knots in it by the ends to shorten the rope? Not sure if this is recommended.
@gladlock4 жыл бұрын
yes tie one big knot. But actually, if you buy a second foot strap, the cord is long enough to work with both feet up. You just don't attach anything to the glide board, friction pulls you up.
@kaththankful96284 жыл бұрын
@@gladlock Could you please elaborate on this? I can't visualize this. Thank you.
@gladlock4 жыл бұрын
@@kaththankful9628 I am terrible at explaining but here I go. To shorten the rope, fold it in two towards the end that anchors to the foot, and tie it into knot as far away as you need to shorten the rope. To do two-legged exercises, you will not anchor the rope to the glideboard. You anchor the middle of the rope to the tower and anchor both tips of the rope to your shoes. Your own weight will keep you anchored to the glideboard and you can do pilates-type exercises. Things to note: Total Gym doesn't come with two shoe straps anymore, and you might need an extra carabiner to attach the second shoe strap if you guy one. I think TG has a kit with two feet though
@iGrooveable8 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the video :). I've got the XLS. I'm not quite sure how the pulley hooks up to the tower. I've got some figuring out to do :P.

The leg pulley attachment for our Total Gym 1800 isn't comfortable for me to wear with my athletic shoes. Can we use the other shoe attachments that ride higher on the ankle with our 1800?
@kaybrown56375 жыл бұрын
I'm the same way. Whenever I'd use the leg pulley attachment, it felt like my knees were being 'torqued' in all directions and those exercises on the Total Gym always hurt my knees. :-(

I've tried doing leg workouts with the pulley system on my Total Gym and end up wrecking my knees. I can't even do leg presses on my Total Gym without wrecking me knees, too. The Pilates machine is good for legs, but the Total Gym is better for upper body workouts and that's the only reason I'm keeping my Total Gym.

That is not a Hamstring curl. You are doing a leg extension, which works the quadriceps (front thigh) muscle.

Good video, but I laugh at these videos and equipment because nothing is never designed for a total lard ass. I'm not saying that to be funny but as easy as some of these exercises look to do, a person with severe weight or range of movement challenges will have major difficulty even trying to attempt to do these exercises properly and safely. Most pieces of equipment were designed with a one size fits all cases kind of idea which isn't always the case. Some of this can be super uncomfortable and even dangerous to someone morbidly obese or close to it. Use caution and be careful. My big concern is the strength of the equipment for everyone's weight.
@totalgymdirect7 жыл бұрын
That's why we have weight limits ascribed to each Total Gym model. And yes, you're right, not everyone is able to do these exercises, but that's why we have literally hundreds of workouts on our KZbin channel. There's something for everyone there, regardless of fitness level. Just because the video exists doesn't mean you HAVE to do the exercises...
