Viera names are actually kind of fun, because canonically any Viera who moved away from the forests picks their own name, as they're not allowed to use their "Forest Name" anymore. The actual names in the games though are mostly Northern European (think Norway/Scandinavia/Denmark) in origin I think? Also the gender identification thing is a moderately real thing for actual rabbits, they're notoriously hard to identify before puberty. Also I don't think they have singular partners (considering the relative number of male to female Viera) it's more likely when the men arrive they wait for whatever lady wants a child. Notably on the First there's a special location for this in the village of the Bunnies we visit. Also their maximum age is like, 300+, compared to the next highest playable race the Elezen, who get to 120.

@@ClockworkCouture. There's an otherwise separate landmass called the Isle of Consorts. The name does not leave much to the imagination of its purpose. It's not actually in the village itself but off to the side. There's also an Isle of Sisters.

The official male viera naming was released! (quite a bit after this video) Male Rava naming is in accordance the their belief that they need to maintain the natural balance of the six elements and their dual polarities. Thus the prefixes are if they are aligned to the celestial realm (Djt) or the worldly realm (Rehw). The rest of the name are elements. (ice/water/wind/lightning/fire/earth). They apparently also believe that they have to have all 12 surnames in use at all times, and may have one Viera renamed in order to make sure there is always at least 1 Male Viera representing each elemental form. Male Veena suffix (wesfv) is literally just "guardian" and all their names are basically just different words they have for snow. Because they live in snow covered mountains and he blends in to become a "part of the landscape".

I actually delayed making this video for quite a while (had most of the scripting done around EW release)... Waited for them to release how male Viera names work... But... Yeaaa... Too long a wait now! I Figured/hope people don't mind that part being mostly speculation and can enjoy the rest of the "very accurate" lore and some actual lore. Hopefully they'll tell us soon! But my copium is that they're too busy writing out the Female Hrothgar naming lore and working on tying all that together... Then will release it all when they show up.

It's very likely that male Viera _do_ have the same "village name"-style last names as the females before turning 13, given it's impossible to tell male from female, and only get a "Wood Warder" name after getting the boot from the village. After all, if they're going to give Viera tradition the biggest "fuck you" possible and leave the forest, why would they feel obligated to follow a comparatively lesser tradition like ditching their real name? It's not like the Viera can enforce it or anything. At least, that's the logic I use for the name of my main; he just stopped using his Rava-style Wood Warder name and went back to using his birth name.
