As much as people hate the screaming and applause during the performance and it sucks for us watching the videos, but a reaction like that from the audience is thrilling and makes the performers do so much better.

It’s because it was their last performance
@Ozloz10 ай бұрын
And to be fair, it’s clear that the performers were into it, like usually the reason I don’t like cheering is because it can mess up actors and is generally disrespectful, especially if they’ve expressed distaste for it, but if the actors are encouraging it and like it then i see no issue
@Floralfreak8 жыл бұрын
As an actor, the audience's reactions in this are so spectacular. When you're preforming and the audience is getting hyped, it's the ultimate catalyst for a great performance.
@May04bwu8 жыл бұрын
Depends where you're from. In some countries, it's considered rude to shout out loud like this :D

Fantastic energy! May04bwu, sure, in some cultures and in some contexts, the audience screaming with excitement would be rude, but this is a rock song about rebellion in a musical about socity repressing adolescent feelings, and the main cast are young people, and the audience loves them

I love that they're all literally saying goodbye to Jon and Lea on stage. Like, Jon would always say "yes" with his arms on his back and a very serious expression, and now he was like FUCK YEAH, and Lea jumped around and hugged the others, they didn't even care, they knew it was their last chance to do all that. I love this.

@jamesthemaniac I think its mostly this show in particular. For this show, that specific atmosphere is part of what makes it so great. This show is about teenage angst and frustration, about trying to find things bigger than us and understanding the world around us more than our parents have managed to do. That's why the crowd goes so wild; because this show speaks to the screaming, crying, swearing, jumping teenager inside of every audience member and incites their emotions.

@quoththeraven929 I am 36, definitely far away from my teenage years, and when I went to see this show, I was in tears. It speaks to that young person in all of us, whether you're 15 or 75. This is such an incredible show, and this song, despite the vulgarity, or perhaps in spite of the vulgarity, states that all of us have been at this point at some time in our lives. I certainly can relate to this song.

@Jlnkht Well it was Jonathan Groff (Melchior) and Lea Michele (Wendla), their last night as part of the show, so all of the long time fans of them and of the show were there and as enthusiastic as possible. One of the times I saw it, it was nothing like this because there was nothing big like an OBC member leaving haha. But it totally does sound like a rock concert.
