Thank you for the video. Two questions, what is the actual and usable range of the cameras to the hub and the reliability of solar charging performance? All systems like I tried the cameras never charge enough and all end up without power during overcast days and worse, never have enough range to connect to the hub unless they are very near. I have a ranch house where the cameras outside are all very far away from each other and the hub and this is all useless and never works. I am yet to find ONE wireless camera security system that actually works unless they are old fashion wired systems.

Hi range is effected by lots of variables like the power of the hub you use, the efficiency of its antennas and the number objects the signal needs to pass through, so its not possible to say a max fiugure. We currently have the camera approx 15 metres from the hub passing through two partition walls and one cavity brick wall without issue. Again from a solar perspective it is difficult to say as it depends how much you view the camera, how many times it is activated by the sensor, if you have the light on or off, if you have it set to upload to the cloud etc as well as the weather / sunlight hours and what its orientation is to the sun. I would say ours gets activated 5 to 10 times a day, we do have the light to come on at night when activated, it uploads to the cloud and records to SD card. Were in South Wales (thats not known for its bright sunshine!). We've not had any issue with the solar panel keeping it topped up and have not had to charger it at all since we made the video.

No problem. I don’t see why not as long as you have WiFi in the van to connect to.

I could do with one of these but my driveway is about 15m from the Wi-Fi router in the house.Did you do any range testing?

@GedandMichele WiFi range is a difficult one to share in a useful way as WiFi routers vary in their range and how many and what type of walls / obstructions the signal needs to go through will all vary how far the signal will get. I have it mounted approximately 10 metres from the router and the signal has to pass through 2 internal and 1 external wall. The signal strength currently shows as 62%

Hi - I don't think they can act as a pure IP camera as they need to be "woken up" via the proprietary software.

Are you familiar with the VanGuardian alarm system? I've just seen it on an old Dragons Den and there's a few videos on KZbin but no proper reviews. Seems like a good easy self fit system for perimeter security but I worry about false activations.

More research and I can see that it is just customised version of a bicycle alarm you can get quite cheaply elsewhere.
