Great stuff right down to committing to physically building the trick at the end and the great performance at the end. And you’re doing it all in a haunted house.😂 I agree with you in absolutely hating holding a spread like the Jacks. It’s an absolute giveaway. What saves this trick is the multiple types of gimmick in play.

Dude this is absolutely Amazing. What an idea! I’ve never seen anything quite like it. The total deconstruction and explanation of a “real” magic - card - trick. Of course I’ve seen “reveals” of magic effects, like “revels” of tricks on P&T Fool Us - by one famous channel in particular - but this deconstruction and reverse-engineering of one card trick is truly refreshing, new, and unique. Mate, you could make this into something special! Please do more, and try to “protect” this format. It is new, innovative, and frank;y awesome. What a great idea and approach!!!! 👍🍻🇬🇧

Very nice I do the same thing with blank stock paper and sometimes I use number cards to make sure the cards are in the right order if it is a mathematical trick as well. Thanks for taking the time on this to figure it out. And like you I can not stand when the cards are spread out in the hands like that. Great channel & hope you can show a few tricks that can be used standing or in a parlor situation.

That was an excellent back engineering of a good trick and you should do more! It throws a new perspective on the construction of a great trick.It shows that with just a few cards you can turn an ordinary trick into a miracle. The same kind of effect can be done with ordinary cards also as in the effect THANKS TO WALTON by Cameron Francis with a couple of elmsley counts where you end clean IN THE PDF let’s get small.

Great Vid and a big thank you. I had some cards kicking around that I bought in Poundland (2 decks for £1). They are a bit thinner than Wadd's or Bicycles, I found them to be just right to make these.

I think the thinner the better otherwise they get a little bulky when sticking those Jacks on the reverse. If I was doing this for keeps then i'd probably try and split the cards to make them thinner.

Superb tutroial! I like how you very systematically reverse engineered it, very scientific. : ) I wonder if the suspicious handling of the 2 stacks cold be improved with some rough/smooth or balm, so you could spread more naturally with one hand. Maybe with the fake jacks glued more fan-wise, not parallel. Then add some distraction from the 180° turning, like casually putting the stack down sideways, do some stuff and grab it with the other hand or so. It would be even more convincing, I assume. But the normal spectator probably won't notice and will be blown away anyway. : D It is a great trick, thanks for all your videos!

Ha ha, thought about my comment today and realised the idea of gluing the jacks fanned of course wouldn't work at all. 🤦 Using some roughing to make the handling easier might still be a good idea.

I wish a trick like that existed where u can remove all the gimmicks in front of the spectators and give them the cards immediately to examine. I know u can achieve that effect by putting the cards in your pocket and making a swap, but it would be great if you didn't have to do that.

That was a great video! You could also think of doing a video on how to build the gaff cards. Are you simply stacking and gluing multiple cards? Is this not getting the cards too bulky?

YOu are right, if you stick multiple cards on the back of another it does make the fake card much thicker. If I was making this trick for performance I would have "split" the cards to make them thin, then stuck them. Alternatively, use cards from Phoenix who sell super waffer thin cards.

@@totallymagic Sure... but I am wondering if you would still stack multiple layers or not. Let me explain: I do know that for some effect you are provided with a gaff card that seems a stack of multiple card (either back or faces). However, this kind of gaff is printed and in the end it is a single card (and this also means that the thickness is the same along all the card). Instead if really stack multiple cards or even multiple layers by splitting cards, the results will still be a card with a thickness not uniform along the whole card. Is that correct? In your experience, is it possible to avoid it? I do know that for some gaffs (e.g., cards with vertical, horizontal or diagonal splits) people split the card removing only partially the layer and do the same on a second card and mix in this way the layers. However, in this case you should really cut the layer along the corner of the cards... is it doable? Don't know my comment makes sense to you :))) But thanks anyway!
