I think Jim Marshal should be on the list. He was an amazing defensive player, and a pillar of the purple people eaters. But unfortunately, he is most remembered for taking the football 66 yards the wrong way! He even forced the game winning fumble the SAME GAME he ran his way to infamy.

Albert Haynesworth was drafted to a team that ran a 4-3 defense. It was switched to a 3-4 defense(which would cause more double teams on him as a nose guard which would decrease his production stat wise. As a result would affect any incentive based money that he could get). So he didn’t “choose” a team that ran a defense where felt he would be ineffective. The missed FG in the championship game might not be what's keeping Anderson out of the hall. The fact that there are scant few kickers in the hall might be the reason. IIRC there are only 2 actual kickers in the hall, Morten Andersen and Jan Stenerud. Lou Groza and George Blanda don't count as kickers as they played other positions as well.
