I think you may be a little confused with trick plays and smart plays.

im gonna attempt to explain this. trick plays are usually special plays called with the intended purpose of deceiving the other team into thinking one way while doing something else different, if successfully executed will result in gaining more yards, first down or touchdown while a smart play is usually an act made by a player on a given play that displays a smart decision based on the given situation, the act does not always result in more yards, first down or touchdown in fact it may result in loss of yards or even give up 2 points to the other team like a safety to run out the clock. a given play can have both a trick play and a smart play. For example, a coach with his team stuck in a tie score with 2 minutes remaining in the game facing 4th down and 5 at his own 30 yard line with no timeouts remaining for either team calls for a trick play like a fake punt with the upback getting the direct snap from center; calling for a trick play in this situation may not necessarily be a smart play knowing that a failed execution will have the other team in prime position to kick a field goal and win the game, however the team proceeded to run the play and executed it successfully with the upback running 5 yards from scrimmage, and as he gained the necessary yardage for the first down he realized no one from the other team is near him so he proceeded to run for the endzone but as he nears the endzone he realized it's a tie score with less than 2 minutes left in the game so he decides to stop at the 1 yard line and lay down waiting for someone from the other team to touch him knowing they can run clock and kick a field goal which in this situation is a smart play on his part

Agreed. I'd actually say there were 3 SMART plays in the video (Cobb, Moss, and Westbrook) Moss' lateral b/c it was definitely improvised vs. a called hook-n-ladder. One smart play I remember is the Ravens punter running out the clock and taking a safety during the final minute of the Super Bowl vs the 49ers.

Great video! And I TOTALLY agree w/you about the 1981 AFC Divisional SD⚡️- Miami 🐬 game. IMO--Best NFL game of all-time. I'll never forget that it was backup QB Don Strock who almost won the game for the Dolphins 🐬. But Dan Fouts and the "Air Coryell" passing attack was just a little too much for them in OT. I'll never forget seeing Kellen Winslow getting help from his teammates because he could barely walk. Just an all-around EPIC battle!
