As a lions fan I like Seattle until we play them and inevitably lose and then I hate them. But the Seahawks were correct passing on Carter. Witherspoon is perfect for Seattle. The image of Seattle defense is stopping any chance of deep pass, stopping the run with a deep defensive line where the sum of the parts is much better than any individual (think cliff avril who sucked in Detroit but was very good for you), and most importantly swarming to the ball and not giving yards after catch. Witherspoon is a great tackler especially on wide receiver screens and crashing on run plays. I wouldn't be surprised if Carter has reduced production this year but Witherspoon will only get better

And i totally agree with your analysis, i think carter could make the most impact right away, but spoon has a higher ceiling and will contribute more as the years go on.

Honestly, unless someone insane fell to them, I wouldn't change who the Seahawks drafted. Witherspoon is a beast you could build a defense around, and JSN could be a solid number two for us at least for years to come, maybe even number one one day depending on how he progresses.
