Blake did not achieve what he had to. He actually ran well for only 2 years at the beginning of his career (2011 and 2012) It is a great pity that he is still searching for the old glory and form from his young days when he was the very best in the world. The fact that he barely goes under 10 seconds today best shows how tragic that 2013 injury was. He spent 8 full years after the injury to return to his old form and in the meantime he has aged (he is 31 years old today). Today he is almost forgotten, and what a sprinter he should have been if everything had been as it should be.... O TEMPORA, O MORES

There's backstory to Bolt's loss at the Jamaican national trials. Bolt and Powell were street racing their cars after leaving a late night party. Bolt wrecked his BMW and messed up his back... 48 hours before the trials began. Not enough time for him to see his chiropractor in Europe. I'm Jamaican and I've seen usain train in person and run in person... as well as asafa and yohan... the key to Jamaica sprinting is simple... it about understand pendulums, rotational inertia, torque, symmetric and flexible rather than trying to develop endless thick muscles for power; it is also about core strength, abs and lower back are even more important than leg strength. Also please note, your legs are only as powerful as you are because the 2 work in tandem. Leg speed or leg turn over rate should be view as a fulcrum and double pendulum system that is able to take the optimal swings when the sprinter is out of his drive phase.

That 2011 100m Final was probably the last chance that we could have seen another sub 9.6 from Bolt. His Start from out of the blocks was the best that year compared to any other seasons that we've ever seen Bolt. For someone who was 6'5, he was torching the competition right at the start of the gun when he usually was one of the slowest because of his tall figure. Was a real bummer that it became a false start. The race will forever remain as one of those "What If" moment. By the way, during his 100m/200m @ Jamaican Olympic trial in 2012, Bolt was apparently sick with a fever if I remember correctly so he was not at his best despite qualifying and running times that bested the competition (besides Yohan Blake)
@macgyversmit46473 жыл бұрын
Bolt ran the 200m in 2011 all out registering 19.40, with that said a person can get an estimation from his 200 time that he was not in sub 9.6 shape!
@Heat_ts73 жыл бұрын
@@macgyversmit4647 both events are all out races but that narrative is false. Look at Yohan Blake for example. He ran a 19.26 same year at Diamond League after WC. That’s the closest we’ve ever seen to match Bolt’s 19.19 yet he’s never gone close to cracking a sub 9.6 with his best a lucky 9.69. 200m requires speed and some endurance towards the runner while 100m requires a perfect combination to start, drive and turnover (and maybe lean) throughout the entire race to run a great time

@@Heat_ts7 how was it a lucky 9.69? he ran that into a headwind lol.

@@biglilrichard we’ve never seen him get anywhere close to it again that’s why. Blake’s next best attempt was a 9.75 and since we’ve never seen him go sub 9.8. A time of 9.7 is already a different realm of speed which only Bolt was most consistent around for quite a bit while other top sprinters hung around “hoping” to even go below 9.85. Like I said, it requires a combination a perfect combination of start, drive, turnover as well as the fitness that they produced in themselves to be able to get lucky enough to hit those times while Bolt was a different breed despite losing 1 (or even 2) races in a year but was always untouchable when at his best whereas every other sprinter we literally never knew who was going to win until they crossed the finish line.

@@jname9368 Total BS , Africa is another doping paradise, there is no testing in Africa, but even so the runners occasionally get caught outside of the country.

Juicing, doping . Call it what you will but yeah .... lots of athletes from Jamaica caught out... coaches... officials . World Athletics poster boy was never going to be busted. Athletics made 100s of millions so why would they kill their cash cow . Dirty deeds

When Yohan Blake made 19.26 in 200m, Bolt's WR was vulnerable, because Blake showed potential to break it any day since then. But then, it didn't happen.

@@lexsoft3969 if Blake was taller, and kept fast leg movements, he would probably beat Bolt.

I wonder if any of us will live to see a faster runner than bolt? My only concern is? Will clothing, foot wear, track material, timing geat change incrementally over the years and make it easier or harder to attain.

I feel like Bolt runs as fast as he thinks he needs to win the current race. A little bit nutty considering he’s scoring world records and you’d think he’d want to do the best he could possibly do.

4:53 Freeze-framed the list of the 96 (presumably the whole list was 100) best times for the 200 m. The top 28 are by athletes from Jamaica or the USA. 17 of 96 are by athletes from other countries, which means that 79 out 96 were by Jamaicans or Americans. You could say they've been dominating this event.

Always liked Yohan Blake. Had that humility of a truly great athlete. Bolt's success got to His head, and he needed that disqualification as a humbling experience. Nothing is won before the race is done and over. Showing off wins nothing. It's merely a fools idea of glory as someone once said.
