If course he will get all the right guidance. He is black. People will be jumping over each other to give him the best chance at really making it in the sport. If he were white or Asian even, all of a sudden there will be barriers, temptations and handicaps galore blocking his path to success. Hirakawa Kiryu found that out the hard way. He still ran sub ten a few times though.

I’m not sure he will get invited to a diamond league meet until he competes internationally at a world level and does at least fairly well. Knighton didn’t appear in a diamond league meet until 2022, the year after his break out 2021 season. If there was a Diamond League event in Australia, he might have had a shot getting 1 spot because I think each Diamond League event is required to leave at least 1 possible space for an athlete of their own country, but since there are no Diamond League meets in Australia, he will have a tough time getting a spot at such a young age. Once he starts beating professional athletes, he will get noticed and will eventually get invited to the Diamond Leauge.

I definitely agree that the important thing is that Gout Gout is well guided, so that he can steer clear of the hype, stay healthy, and focus on becoming the world-class athlete he surely will become. Even if we notice: His capability of achieving record-breaking times at such a young age His stance, strength, stride and speed at 100m and 200m (which are all unnervingly reminiscent of another certain record breaking sprinter) The fact that the 2032 Olympics are due to take place in Brisbane...

In my day you were lucky to sprint the 50 yard dash on concrete ground or cinder track. They ran 100 yard dash and 220 yards no meters in USA high schools. 440, mile, 2 mile, etc.. Long jump , high jump. , etc.., was all in feet. I see him having a great future in track n field. Another Bolt in the making.

Gout just won the Australian title for Under 20 yesterday! He is only 16.... Even his coach said that 'it is scary' how good he could become. She is doing a good job as a trainer. And he is still a kid... The way he talks and smiles.

I remember running against super talented sprinters. It was like they had a V8 and you had a V4. You tried harder but they won from better lungs and body. I never was bitter about that, just hoped they made something of their gift.

Question: can taller sprinter peak earlier than shorter sprinters? It takes longer for shorter sprinters to develop muscular strength for power strides than taller sprinters

Finally someone worthy of your hype. Very promising, with the right training and necessary discipline he actually could be the next Bolt. He will have to choose between just being very very good happy and enjoying life or Greatness. Cant have both, Greatness requires sacrifice, pain and suffering talent and skill is not enough. Its not a fun experience forging your name in the annals of History - Thats why only a few can do it. He’s obviously got the talent but its for too soon to tell if he’s got the will, when we see how he handles the pressure and temptations of money and women that the fame and success his talent will bring him over the next 4 or 5 years, then we’ll know.
