Every time I watch a new video from you, I learn 3 more abbreviations for chemicals.

Sorry, we throw abbreviations around like crazy

I’m a 2nd year chemistry student. Everytime I watch a chemistry video on KZbin, I’m astonished, and truthfully a little bit overwhelmed about all the information they know. It makes me wonder when I’ll learn things like this, & if I’ll be able to hang on during lessons like these, as well as ‘ damn will I ever be this smart‘ hopefully I can make it through lmao. I love this stuff but it’s just such a big jump from your standard ochems, makes me wonder.

Hey man, super awesome you are eager to learn and thinking boldly! BTW - just reacting as you have said that you're a chem student - I've just published a bit of a longer problem set (total-synthesis.com/organic-chemistry-practice-problems/) that might be interesting for you to check out. Even if just for more challenge or inspiration :) In case other students find it valuable, I will document the solutions and publish more of these in future.

As a postgrad chem student, you’ll most likely hear about it during your master degree if this one is specialised in ochem, radical chemistry and photochemistry

a bit sad you kept it on such a trivial level, i totally knew all of that!

At 5.29 in this video, the minor enone appears to have lost a methylene group.

TIL there was a plastics industry in the 1870’s… always assumed they were first being synthesized in the early 20th century

You need to improve your communication skills, its sounds you are not interested to make. However, content is awesome

😂😂😂 really? Recording audio doesnt do me justice (feels like you have to completely over-exaggerate emotions or emphasis to make it come through)
@joeyw.7131Ай бұрын
@@totalsynthesis Totally disagree. You sound fine. I think over-exaggerating would do a disservice to your videos, actually.

@@totalsynthesis I like it when the videos are a bit more academic in style.
