Thank you, Coach Kevin! I felt like you were speaking directly to me. When my footwork isn't as disciplined, I swing harder with my arm, causing more inconsistency and frustration, a vicious cycle. I really appreciate the Action Steps and Summary in the video and I can't wait for video #2. Thanks again.

Wow, your videos get better all the time. It’s sometimes more fun to work on stroke technique, but without footwork and fitness technique is useless. I’m over 50-and it used to be natural, but footwork always needs reinforcement!

Yeah, I needed to see this. I've been obsessing over my stroke technique far too much, it's time I started working on my much neglected footwork. - I recently played someone who sliced a lot and had really good touch and very untraditional technique. I was never prepared to move forward at all against his shots which would sneak over the net and barely bounce up, sometimes, it literally bounced twice before reach the baseline and I reacted so late I couldn't touch it. I've clearly been playing against people who just handshake a certain depth of shot with me, and so I never recognized the need to move forward or backward haha, only laterally. Well, I'm pretty happy with my groundstroke technique now anyway, it's time to focus on the feet...I sense sore legs in my future haha

2:18 2:49 3:28 4:28 6:53 please do not pivot on the heel of your front foot when demonstrating how to use your feet on a forehand please. That being said, your front foot footwork is generally impeccable on your forehand. One of the key areas of improvement for recreational players is how they use their front foot on their forehand, as recreational players nearly always set their front foot up in a way that makes it impossible for them to turn their hips or swing with a biomechanically efficient technique. The extreme example is setting up for a forehand standing side on to the incoming ball with the left foot pointed to the side fence planted firmly flat on the ground and then try to turn your hips. The cheat is to lift the left foot up and backwards on every forehand, which is common amongst recreational players who think they are correctly replicating professional technique. Otherwise good ideas and video. Apologies

I forgot to add, Kevin has magnificent athleticism, so he can get away with pivoting on his heel every now and then but still executes good swing technique. Most recreational players do not have Kevin's level of athleticism and when a recreational player does try to pivot on the heel of their front foot, the majority of times any semblance of good swing technique evaporates.

So are you saying pivot on your toes as to not cause knee injuries??
@Whisper5553 жыл бұрын
@@richieortiz5 I have an answer, I put it in your very last video you posted. The powers that be do not want people to see what I have written.

How do you account for a dead old balls? I playing in a recreational club and certain levels get nice new balls vs someone in the 3.5 level get used dead balls.

Hi Kevin, do you know of some exercises to improve my quickness and also my coordination and focus between my eyes and hand? I saw a player, in an ATP tournament, do these exercises with a coach, before going on the court. He only used a tennis ball. I think they were warming up. Do you have a video about it?
