for new players just build it and play with it in ur second playthrough things will get cleaner. I build hardly any infrastructure until minimum Mk5 belts so i dont have to waste massive time rebuilding things more then once. one of the best tricks early is leave the game running while you live life so containers fill with resources then turn those into moving forward pushes later

In regards to getting the belt from miners snapped to the foundations: when you drag the belt from the machine, have it in Default mode. You can spin the conveyor support with the mouse wheel, so spin it once and that will take from "straight according to the source," to "straight according to the foundation." Once you get the latter, then it will be lined up with the foundation and you can switch to straight mode.

I follow a simple rule (when building with standard power poles): One building -- One power pole. In this way, the poles have one connection for the building, one for the preceding pole, one for the subsequent pole, and one available for future use. Following this rule, I never have to refactor the power poles to fit in future changes or expansions.

That’s a good practice. If you’re like me and forget: instead of having to rewire a ton you can hover over an existing wire with an electric pole equipped/selected. It will create a new pole with 2 connections to the previous poles 👍🏻

Thank you for going into such detail, I know it helped me understand what was going on! However, the whole 5:1 balancer with the Mk1 conveyer limitation of 60/m item rate was a little rushed. Even going back over it at 0.25 speed wasn't a lot of help. I think I know what is happening, but I did have to go back over it in slow motion half a dozen times. Brilliant, if you are trying to increase your user interaction stats, but a bit frustrating for someone trying to understand the how and why of it. I certainly wouldn't be upset if you explaned the input and output numbers of your splitters and mergers a little more. Yes, I may be a little slower at the math than most. 😔 You did ask for constructive criticism as I recall. 😏

@@TotalXclipse Is that balancing slightly off? I think 35 solid biofuel went to the side that needs 9*4=36 biofuel, and 25 to the side that needs 6*4=24 biofuel. I will definitely be watching the whole series. I've been playing Satisfactory for a while now but there are some areas that I get hung up on. One Question I have is: When you have to build something like Modular frames, for example, do you convey the Reinforced plates & Iron rods from their storage and if so how do you transfer things from storage for all the different things you have to build without your factory starting to look like spaghetti (like mine usually does) OR do you build a new prod line for the Reinforced Plates & Iron Rods that feeds directly into your Modular Frame prod line.
@zengrathАй бұрын
Very nice. Honestly difficult to follow as a newb. A lot of it was place this here and place this here without too much explanation as to why. like the load balancing at end on the 9 bioplants didn't make sense to me, had to pause video and stare and stare until i finally think i got it. the iron factory was insane, i in my playthrough ended up doing most of it separate in tinier factories around iron mines then shipping final products to my storage hub area. Doing it all in one go in one factory is mind boggling and i think i'd go absolutely crazy trying to think of it all in one go. So sure, i could just copy what you did without thinking but then i am not really learning why it all works in my head to be able to do similar things on my own in the future. I can only hope the more i play the more i'll understand more complex factories like that, for now i have to do smaller factories piece meal to grasp it all.
@TotalXclipseАй бұрын
How you use the video, is upto you, whether that's inspiration or copying the exact layout, or just hearing my rationale. There are definitely improvements I need to make to make them easier to understand but also clear up why I'm doing this. We will move to smaller factories in a separate location eventually but for the starter factory it's easier to have everything coming into one place
@grandpa_plays_chess2Ай бұрын
@@TotalXclipse Hearing your rationale, and don't worry about pace here. Go slowly. In fact, in hours and hours of watching starter videos, I don't know if anyone went too slow, as long as they were giving strong information. The sound of building is usually bigger than the voices. If you can fly and do more explanation of the why you are doing it, then that is all to the good. Experiment in the early ones, and adjust for the audience. You are top five in content creation. Slow down. You are doing great work here.

Turning mycelia to biomass and then into solid bio fuel is the most efficient way to produce power early game because a 200 stack of mycelia produces 1,000 solid biomass. A stack of 200 wood only produces 600 biomass. So if you're like me and are quite slow to get to coal power or you don't want to cut down every tree in the area, you can use the chainsaw to harvest mushrooms or the pink coral-looking stuff to gave a ton of mycelia.
@QueldonusАй бұрын
This is excellent advice, but I disagree on some of your priorities. I personally unlock obstacle clearing as soon as I possibly can. Before part assembly. Having access to solid biofuel reduces the amount of gathering you need, and the chainsaw makes it faster as well. I set up some foundations, build a 12-16 biomass burner power plant and constructors to convert all the plant mass into biomass, then into solid biofuel, and into a container that feeds all the bio burners. This is set up outside my bare-bones factory, as I can build it once and it will carry me until coal power. Once you have coal power online, you can leave that bio burner factory in place as a reserve power plant.

This video was so so helpful! Been checking everyday waiting for the next episode! It’s obvious these take a lot of work, does anyone know when we might get the next one?

Beginning game is always fun to get it exactly how you want it.

Hey, I love the guided videos! I don’t mean to sound negative, but the only thing I’m having a bit of trouble with is the placement of your machines in the videos. Sometimes I have to pause or rewind a few seconds to catch it. It would be really great if you could spend just a little more time focusing on the placement part in the videos. Everything else is perfect-keep up the amazing work and content!

This is my 4th 1.0 start... got to T5/T6 the other 3 times then thought... rushing to complete with containers and final assemble does not a sustainable factory make. This time through im going to do exactly as you do. Maybe i can finish it again and it could look good as well. Ive subs and joined you to follow all your work, between you and bitz, this games is fantastic

I like the 2 view cam but for me I get to phase 4 before things start to slow down a little bit up until then it's pretty fast to get there
