Just a thought, consider adding some furring strips or spacers for the main support rails to allow clearance of wiring that may run outside of the drywall. I just cut some 1/2" plywood 4" x 1.5" to allow clearance for alarm wiring, additional lighting and power supply wiring for a side mount garage door opener the customer has had installed. 👍

My garage ceiling towards the front uses metal straps. It's really hard to find the wooden studs behind them.
