Thanks John! Your insightful videos have made owning a Jag a pleasurable experience. Without your insight I might have never bought my 2000 XK8. Take care over yourself and have a better - healthy next year!

Another great video John. I’m also preparing to change the hydraulic fluid in the new year as a precaution - can’t wait for your verdict and tips!

Hi John. Nice catch up video. I changed the hydraulic fluid in my roof system last year. Like you I did it as a preventertive measure. I used the same fluid you have bought and has been great. I noticed that after changing the fluid my roof opened and closed a little quicker and also the pump was a bit quieter so my old fluid may have thickened slightly and now my pump seems to be having an easier life. Happy new year John 👍

Glad to hear all is well with yours Thomas. Much more important to keep on top of fluid level and condition in hotter climates.

Hi John, on the subject of Hondas- I would concur, though my experience with Hondas is bikes only, having 3 in my collection. maintenance is a chore compared to say the old BMWs, but the engineering is most impressive. and, if and when servicing is needed, it is not as bad as one might have feared. took the engine out of my GoldWing lately to "do" the starter sprag clutch and it wasn't too bad a job. everything came apart and went back to serviceable condition, though beeing 40years old.

I keep being tempted to buy a X358 diesel now that Jaguar are no longer making Jaguars (as I've known them anyway) but the expanding ulez around the country makes me think they will become expensive to run and be worth very little in years to come 🤔😔

I just acquired a 99 xk8 and am happy with it even though it needs some minor body work an a complete tune-up...other then that for 3k I'm not looking to resell anytime soon....basically until someone hits me I think It's a keeper for at least the next 5 or maybe even 10 years....

Hope 25 is a healthy one for you and your family John. I am in a similar position and can fully understand the loss of mojo. Couldnt help notice the bike next to your Jag. Are you hapoy having a electric bike kept in you garage ? Hear so many fires caused by E bikes. Re the plastic on your MH try some Maguires tyre gel . Brilliant on tyres and lasts for ages did bits like mudflaps and rear valence on my xf with it and stays nice and black.

First a Frohes Neues Jahr, but looking under your bonnet your strut covers (Wheel hub caps just don't look right) IMHO, but each to their own. I KNOW you WILL refer people to my video on the green shower BUT also in the HOT places IE Arizona the CHF turns to Gel. It's a Jaguar feature :) I flushed my pipes with Brake Cleaner from the head rail to the boot and caught it in a container. It's NOT tennis elbow it's Wankers Cramp 😁😁
