This is a masterpiece. Vocalist Bobby Kimball is on fire here!! Drum groove is perfect, Luke is rocking, Mike Porcaro is laying down a funky bass groove. David is tearing up the keyboard. Horn arrangement is fantastic!! Back up vocals on fire!!! Nothing better than Toto!!!! Love this tune!!!!

They played so many different styles. Prog Rock, Hard Rock, Jazz, R&B, Pop, Pop Rock, Soft Rock, etc. That’s what I loved about them. They didn’t just stick to one style of music. Because to me, if you keep playing the same style of music over and over, it get’s boring, imo.

As much as I like Joseph Williams, there was nobody like Bobby Kimball in his prime. Tremendous range, emotion, power. This could easily be an AC/DC piece. And this bass part has evil parts. Mike was vastly underrated in comparison to other bass players. Here, he provides the drive for the band. Toto has never really replaced Kimball and Mike Porcaro.

Mike was so good! Yes, when Bobby was in his prime his voice was great, but he totally lost it after 2007, imo. In terms of bass players, I liked David Hungate, but Mike just grooved more. David was great for the fast and complex stuff and Mike was great for the more groovier and soulful stuff, but he could also rock, just listen to Falling In Between. The thing that I loved about the Simon Phillips era of the band was that they didn’t really try to be the same band after Jeff Porcaro passed, they evolved and changed over the years, playing many different styles of music. Joseph is my favorite Toto singer, but I agree that they never really replaced Bobby and Mike.

Bobby is the main TOTO vocalist but Joe and Fergie are still legendary for TOTO and Jean was a bit different but still a great vocalist. All the reincarnation of TOTO have been great for me...most left a lasting impact 🙏

Bobby was using a lot of autotune the last year he was in the band. His pitch was not that good. I have no idea what went wrong other than he was loosing his high range like almost all men do as they age.

In my opinion Toto was at their best around that time. Bobby was still doing great, Dave and Luke you can basically always count on and they had their very best rhytm section with Mike Porcaro and THE Simon Phillips. I think Mike Porcaro has always been somewhat underrated and Jeff Porcaro overrated.
