This group of musicians were some of the best musicians in L.A in the 70’s and 80’s and beyond…

Toto had so many hits but this song has been my go to ever since the album was released. An epic first album. Each member of Toto was in high studio demand with many famous artists through the years. Impeccable musicianship. 👍👍👍 Thanks Rob and Harri.

From 1978, their debut album, " Toto", this is a great Rock tune, with elements of funk and R&B on this up tempo rocker. Bobby Kimball's impassioned vocals offer up the love, with powerful guitar chords with rhythmic changes and the horns and addictive drums driving melody home. Just a great tune. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Robert. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Michael Jackson’s backup band and co-songwriters on one of the most legendary albums ever, Thriller. These guys were hugely respected in the industry by some of the biggest artists for their musicianship. They wrote Human Nature. Theres actually a version of that song by Toto without Michael.

Bobby Kimball sings lead vocals here. They have had several lead vocals over the years. Guitarist Steve Lukather also sings lead on some tunes, like Rosanna.

Robert - Nice blast from the past. I remember this well but I never knew it was Toto. Go figure!? Harri - The vocalist here is the amazing Bobby Kimball of "Hold The Line" fame, and they have another great lead singer and guitarist: Steve Lukather. Great selection and reaction -- thanks, fellas!

These guys were the epitome of musicianship in the recording industry for a long time. The list of artists Jeff Porcaro recorded for is off the rails. A true drummers drummer. Same with Lukather. 👍

@@Imadrummin Many said that they played on so much music that most of the music that played on the radio featured at least one TOTO member. I learned so much about playing for the song and groove from Jeff. He, along with Neil Peart and Phil Collins, inspired me to become a drummer.

Released in 78 , so you got the rock but also the bass disco dance sound , a confusing time for rock and roll when disco and dancing was everywhere.

Toto I to IV was great and TOTO as a band is so so underrated. They got so much great songs, and they had different lead singers all the time. I remember in 1980, when I first listened to this album TOTO I in a record shop in Germany, relaeased a short time before. So again, a real great LA band and underrated, saw this band BTW 2006 live in Germany. The singer on this song was Bobby Kimball, lead.

Harri I love your reactions. The singer on this track is Bobby Kimball but Steve Lukather and David Paich also sing leed on some tracks. David is the main writer in the band. Steve Porcaro also sang a few songs but his voice isn't really strong enough for live performances.

They had two lead singers. They were an incredible band made up of amazing studio session musicians whose members played on some truly incredible records such as Thriller by Michael Jackson. Please give a listen to their track called Georgie Porgie.
@nickavenoso7851Ай бұрын
They actually had more singers than that. Paich and Luke sang on many songs (Steve Porcaro even sang on some songs), but excluding them the band actually 4 lead singers over the course of their career (Bobby Kimball, Fergie Frederiksen, Jean-Michel Byron and Joseph Williams).
