I see the pressure & position preset options, but when I push the rear wash button I’d like it to be on the more gentle of the two and don’t see an option for having that be the default wash pressure. Am I missing something?

I wish I could say otherwise, but you're not missing anything. It's something we've brought up to TOTO. We're hoping their new S7A line addresses this.

My s550e always seems to revert to some default setting (neither profile) when i sit down, and I seem to have to explicitly choose one profile. Anyway to avoid that? Me and my partner actually have the same settings. I think we tried turning off profiles too

The wash will not default to either user profile unless you select it.
