You nailed the pronunciation!!! Well done, And yeah, you should come. Some say's it's one of the best tracks in norther europe, not only scandinavia. Been around the tracks a lot, even on a kick bike...lol... ( As a crew... Went over the track with a broom making it ready for bike's.) =P

I had a good coach for the pronunciation so I'm glad I got at least close 😁. I've been 'window shopping' a little toward putting together a trip, but of course that will all have to wait until we can travel responsibly.

I`ve heard that the reason for the track being run anticlockwise is that it was first after that the build had started, that someone realised that brakefailure at the end of the main straight would send you on a veeery long flight that would end with a big bang. So they changed to driving it anit clockwise instead. Another track way up in the north, on the swedish side, is Fällfors Drive center, completely different in style, but if you`ve traveled that far, it might be worth a visit.

I have Fällfors on my map, so will keep that in mind once I get that far. Looking at all of the aerial footage from ACR there are definitely some precipitous drops to too far off track, fortunately most appear to not be in the line of fire for any enthusiastic agricultural expeditions. Clockwise turn one would be a doozy though for sure.

Your story is a myth. The decison to do the circuit anticlockwise was done long before the building started, and the main reason was lack of necessary rock masses near by for the construction. Long transport of 20,000 m3 rock masses was to expensive. After all, the old track from '75 was also anticlockwise, so there was no big reason to change. :)

It's quite a drive to get there, even though im im sweden, hence ive never driven all the way up there, yet. Check out rudskogen aswell, another great Norwegian track that I've not visited :)

If you see some of my U.S. track feature videos I've been known to drive a couple thousand km just to enjoy a new track for a weekend, so as long as I can get my car on the continent then anything is possible 😁

Fun fact, the rudskogen raceway is used to test driving school pupils on ice and snow conditions in the off-season
